IT'S A BABY-BONANZA!

Good morning, residents! Did you sleep well? You're going to need all the energy you can muster because congratulations: You're parents! Again! The Paradisa Stork has paid some very lucky residents a visit last night, and even moved them to a more kid-friendly environment.

Some of you may already recognize your little bundle of joy and--my, how they've grown! Others will have to get acquainted with their little rugrats. You may not know them, but they certainly know you. By they way? They're bored. And hungry! And they want all the attention you could possibly give them.

It's going to be a long week.

[He watches after her and looks back at Mitsuru. God, that kid is weird. And he really hopes that whole "are you gonna kiss" thing doesn't escalate.

He'd make a remark about the inability to keep up due to his leg, but his eye happens to catch a crutch propped up against the far wall. He gives a bit of a sigh.]

Guess I don't have an excuse to get out of this after all, huh?

[This whole 'father' thing is going to be absurdly weird.]

[Meanwhile Mitsuru just grabbed and checked a bag. It's got some snacks and medicine in it and it looks like it's been prepared for her before this]

Hmph. Yes. Come, I'll walk with you.

[Mitsuru puts the bag on her shoulder and looking like a total mom. She walked with Larry to the hallway where Mariko was skipping away]

I wonder where she got the fascination for detectives. [Mitsuru smiles, she seems to kinda like this 'mother' thing.]

[He'll give a scoff while he prepared the crutch.]

Kind of you.

[Ugh. He never expected that he'd be stuck using one of these things. It was almost a shot to his ego, really. Having to hobble along on a crutch because of the condition his right leg was in...

When they were out in the hall, he'll glance over at Mitsuru.]

Not me, certainly. Guess she got ahold of a book about it if she didn't get it from you.

[He'll watch after Mariko then, catching sight of that patch on her jacket. ...he was torn between being amused and just perplexed.]

... I wasn't aware they made a child version of the Galm team's patch.

[Mitsuru remembered she was reading one of Castle's novels before this. She thought of going back to the room later to hide it from Pixy. No one can know she's a fangirl]

I noticed. It is an amusing take if I say so myself.

[Weiss then followed immediately behind them, bumping against Larry's crutch before tailing his new favorite human Mariko]

[Pixy glanced down when he felt Weiss bumping the crutch and frowned a little, watching the puppy tail after Mariko. Geez, was he really demoted by his own dog?]

I didn't think children would be at all interested in Ustio's Air Force units.

Hm-hmm, the average child might not be. But young Mariko is your's after all. She has your smile as well.

[solowingpixy]

[He gives her an odd look.]

Right. I'm sure you're an expert in that regard.

[He rarely smiles and almost never has reason to, how would she know?]

[She's seen enough of his short smiles to tell. But she just shook her head at his comment. She's actually beginning to enjoy his snark for reasons unknown to her yet. When she looked at the end of the hallway, Mariko is missing]

Hmm? Mariko?

[Then at the corner of the hallway, Mariko was giggling to herself and waited for her mother to get to a certain point. Suddenly, she jumps out to scare her]

Boo!

[Weiss was in on the joke, letting out a bark when he jumped out hiding with Mariko]

Ahhh!

[Mitsuru lost her composure for a brief second and clung to her not-husband. She blushes when she realized what happened.

Mariko just laughed and went on ahead again.]

Mariko! Oh dear...

[He glanced over calmly, steadying his crutch when Mitsuru suddenly clung to him. He looks at her with a raised eyebrow before watching Mariko go along ahead again. He'd give a slight laugh.]

Graceful.

[Mitsuru sighs and fixes her coat. Embarrassed on how she just lost composure there]

Pardon that... I certainly was not like that when I was a child.

Not like what? Easily scared by little kids and their dogs?

[Sorry, Mitsuru. He's gonna poke at you a little about that. He's certainly not referencing you acting like Mariko there.]

I meant scaring my mother and father.

[But then she remembered, she didn't grow up with her mother, and her father was emotionally distant.]

[He'll be thinking that's because you were a pompous rich ass little spoiled lady, but he'll be kind enough to keep that to himself.]

If we're not careful, she could develop espionage tactics to use on us.

Somehow that is a frightening thought...

[He gives a low laugh.]

Be glad I was in the air force and not the ground forces, otherwise she might've inherited that.
