Who: Noble Six and Kelly-087
What: Sparring
When: Today
Where: The roof
Rating: PGish. PG-13 at most.

[They'd talked it over a while back. Noe they'd finally set up a day and a time for it. And the fact that a lot of residents are off dealing with offspring as certainly going to make it much less likely that they get interrupted by a civilian. Okay, fighting on the roof would probably make that a lot easier.  Who'd really come up there to check on things.

Now, Six is waiting in armor for the older Spartan to show up.  Though she's getting a bit antsy and impatient as it is.  She hadn't felt comfortable sparring around others after snapping like that.  This would give her a chance to test herself.  And rest isn't a standard state of affairs for a Spartan.]

[Kelly's no fan of rest either, and has been trying to avoid the children as much as possible (mostly because she hadn't the first clue what to do with them).

Sparring with Six, however, had more reasons than just keeping herself busy. She wanted to guage this Spartan's abilities. She wanted to find out how she got her Mjolnir. She wanted to know how stable she was now, compared to the conversation they'd had on the ships.

That hadn't been encouraging at all.

Lucy she knew well enough to trust, but this Spartan III still left her feeling unsure, and made her more acutely aware that she was the only II in residence, and while some were quite capable of surviving as a lone wolf, that was never Kelly.

She's still within the window of their intended start time, and had done a quick warmup as she took the stairs up two at a time. She's primed and ready as she steps onto the roof, full Mjolnir kit gleaming its iridescant green in the sunlight.]

Noble Six. Thank you for meeting me up here. [She holds out her hand for a formal greeting.]

You outrank me, Lieutenant.

[Kelly reminds her, slightly raising her brows under her visor. She was already having her doubts about this one. Spartans didn't often startle each other, even among the IIIs she had known.

Kelly's Mjolnir, though upgraded through her years of service, still bears a fair amount of battle damage that no amount of polishing will ever shine.]
Any stipulations or ground rules you want to lay down, or just 'try not to break the castle'?

I figured that was a given. [There were enough dead Spartans as it was.]

Could I ask you something before we get started?

Where did you get your Mjolnir? It was Halsey's project, none of the IIIs I knew had it.

I was there, I know Reach fell. [She takes and releases a careful breath, not expecting good news about this next question.] 052, do you know his status?

[Kelly's still and silent, for a moment, but Six should recognize the subtle shift in armor, the way she looks down at her feet. There were so very few of them left any more.]

Understood. [She was too tired from hearing this kind of news anymore to offer any sort of encouragement, how he took some of the bastards with him, or that's what he would have wanted. At this point, she wished more of them could have come out alive from their respective missions.\]

[She does a quick count in her head. Fred, Linda, Herself. No news on Grey team. Even John, missing for months.]

At this point I'm not used to better news.

[Okay, she had heard they reached a cease-fire, which was a win in a manner of speaking but lacked the definite satisfaction of a full out victory. And, of course, it came at a great price with the disappearance of Master Chief.]

Shall we get started?
