What: A possibly familiar little girl, barely old enough for grade school, is wandering around the castle unsupervised. What do?
When: Today!
Where: The castle grounds, lobby, Four Seasons beach, Music Room - any of Rise's favorite places!

[Well, it's been a few days now. Rise hoped she'd only be this small for her birthday and the castle would give up on its latest little prank. But after a day or two of going back and forth between sticking close to a convenient friend (new or otherwise) or sulking alone somewhere, it's getting really boring not going out when she wants just because she's not as big as she should be. She's even been a fairy before, and that never stopped her!

... Though, at least she could fly then. Having to run around everywhere makes the castle somehow seem even bigger now, against all logic. And no matter where she goes, everything looks different.

Before she knows it, a quick trip outside of her own room has become a full-blown exploration of the entire castle. From the hallways, to the grounds, to some of her favorite rooms to visit. She's not exactly alone, but not everyone notices such a small child running around.

... Of course, someone probably will sooner or later.]

Oh, right! Um...

[Rise looks around the beach a bit before pointing in a direction. At a cutesy little pink and white bag. The castle's really been messing with her wishes this week... though if you just take away the little cartoon characters it's something Rise would normally use.]

Over there!

[Chie grabbed the bag and slung it on her other shoulder. Now that's good, she walked to where they're gonna be changing clothes]

You think you could walk on your own now? The spinning must have made you very dizzy!

Only 'cause you were spinning so fast!

[She's kind of chuckling to herself even as she says it, though. So much for being convincing.]

But yeah, I think I'm okay.

[She may or may not just be jumping at the chance to have some independence again. It's still hard being so tiny, okay?]

[Chie gently puts Rise down, watching her tiny feet make contact with the sand]

[And Rise is a bit unsteady for a second, but seems perfectly fine! Though she does instinctively grab Chie's hand just in case... it'd be both embarrassing and uncomfortable falling on her face into the sand...

Pretty soon, they make it to the changing rooms. Since Chie's carrying the bags, Rise rushes forward to open the door, inadvertently tugging at Chie's arm a bit.]

[Chie smiled and gives a little amused laugh as she watched Rise look so much like Shiori. She may not show it as much, but she was proud of that little girl, and she doesn't realize that she loves Shiori like a real daughter...

Chie puts the bags on the floor, unzipping them to grab a towel and dry herself]

Ahh! That was fun. We should do that more often!

[Chie then unties her swimsuit, not feeling ashamed around her friend. What? It's not like they haven't seen each other buck naked before]

[Rise grabs her own towel, drying off a bit before stripping out of her own swimsuit. Even looking like she does now, it's no big deal with Chie.]

Just don't get used to me being this small!

[Yeah, she's actually feeling comfortable enough to joke about it now. It's not like she'll be this way forever!

Though she does get an envious little twinge as she notices Chie's looking a little... curvier? More matured? She doesn't even know. It could just be her new perspective. But, to Rise, she definitely looks more womanly than last time they saw each other in the nude...

... It kind of makes her blush and turn away this time. She's really not used to that feeling!

At least it'll probably go away once she's back to normal...]

[Chie glanced at Rise who was looking away]

Hey, don't be shy. You'll be back to normal before you know it! And we could do this again! It's too bad I won't get to spin you around again.

[But she could probably still carry her. Chie puts on some underwear and puts some casual clothes on. They're definitely more stylish than her (in the words of that bitch Ai) "frumpy" clothes thanks to her friend and mentor Kate]

Sh-shut up!

[But Rise laughs. Even if it is a bit embarrassing actually thinking about letting Chie carry her around, it's been kind of fun! She never really had a big sister or older cousins to play with when she was little...]

Well, last time my loss lasted a few weeks, so you might get another chance! [She gives Chie a playful smirk. She's teasing, but she really surprisingly doesn't mind being physically treated like a kid while she is one. At least Chie knows she's still the same Rise.

As she finishes getting dressed in one of her child-sized outfits, she gives Chie an approving look.]

Heey, lookin' good, Chie-chan!

[She sounds less like a perky teen idol and more like a precocious baby sister, but the half-teasing half-appreciative tone is definitely pure Rise.]

Maybe once I'm back to normal we can trade style tips! [And the trademark Risette wink.]

Heh-heh... Thanks! [Chie blushed. Getting a compliment from an idol means a lot to Chie] And I would like that. Sounds like fun!

Anyway, you ready? I'm getting hungrier by the second! [Chie extends a hand to Rise for her to hold]

[Rise giggles at that.]

You're always getting hungrier by the second!

[She just couldn't resist that particular teasing jab, while she primps and preens a little more, straightening her skirt and brushing at imagined debris. Finally, she nods.]

Okay, ready!

[She takes Chie's hand, ready to follow. Surprisingly, she doesn't even mind the idea of going into town like this...]

I train all the time, so that's why I get hungry a lot! [She gets jokingly defensive. She trained a lot harder when she started spending more time with Rise. She's determined to become stronger for her]

Whoo-hoo! To the town!

[Chie pumped her fist, holding Rise's hand on the other as they both exit the Four Seasons room and to the elevator]

[As the girls make their way out to town, Rise once again can't help but notice how big everything looks now. Being in the familiarity of the castle or the beach isn't really too intimidating, but this is only the second or third time she's been out in the town. Unconsciously, she scoots a little closer to Chie and holds her hand a little tighter.]

... Where is it we're going again?

[She actually can't remember if Chie mentioned a specific place or not. But she can guess there's steak involved.]

Well it's an inn and they serve really good meat dishes!

[Chie then realized the distance to that inn be. And with Rise's tiny self, it would feel like double the distance with her little steps... Chie thinks for a second and suddenly, a light bulb!]

It's still pretty far away, do you want to get on a carriage?

[Yep, sounds like a place Chie would go! Not that Rise minds... meat is part of a balanced diet!

The suggestion of a carriage, however, catches her off guard.]

I'm fine!

[It didn't sound hostile or argumentative, but it was an instinctive, knee-jerk response. And Rise kind of blushes a bit when she realizes it.]

I mean... sure. We could do that...

[She doesn't even know why she reacted like that. Taking a carriage just sounds like common sense. Besides...]

Really, it sounds fun!

[Chie noticed Rise's "I'm fine!", even though she didn't seem to. It must be because she's been treating her underclassman like a child]

Whoo! Okay! I've been on one before, by myself... [She sounded a bit upset at that last bit] It's pretty fun.

[Chie leads Rise to the carriage, waved hi to the driver and paid him in Caisos. The driver seems to know Chie, as if she's been getting on these carriages a lot]

[Aww, now Rise really does want to join Chie on the carriage! It's much better with a friend than alone! (It's even better with a date but there's so many reasons not to think of it that way right now...)]

Let's go, then!

[Rise follows along to the carriage, watching curiously as Chie pays the driver. It's so... strangely mundane, so close to the wish-granting castle.

Of course, as she moves to get on the carriage, she realizes it's a bit high for her to reach. At least, with any sort of dignity. She doesn't want to make a scene in public, but she hesitates to ask Chie for help too, for some reason. Instead, she just shrinks into Chie, unwittingly looking very much like a shy little girl.]

[Chie just chuckles to herself and boosted Rise up to the carriage. But the seat would be too low for her to enjoy the sights!]

[Rise just sits there, kicking her legs back and forth in the air. It would be nice to be able to see, and she looks around every once in a while to see if she can catch a glimpse of the town. After a minute or two, she finally speaks.]

... Are we close?

[That's about the closest she'll get to actually asking for another boost in public, Chie.]

We're actually here now. [The carriage stopped just when Chie's sentence ended]

Awww, really?

[She climbs to her feet - on her seat - to peek out of the carriage.]

I missed the whole ride?

[She's not pouting or whining any more than she usually does. But in her now tiny voice and childlike face, it certainly sounds like it. And it's not clear if she's doing it on purpose or not.]

Don't worry, we can do this again later. [Chie got down on the carriage, and waited for Rise. She took a deep breath in and smiled]

Ah, I can smell the cooking meat!

[Rise hops down from the carriage and shifts over until she's right next to Chie. Reaching out to take the other girl's hand is practically reflex now.

Curiously, Rise takes a dainty little sniff at the air...]

... That does smell really good!

[Oh man, she's even more hungry now! But she kinda hopes the meals here aren't too rich... she has to be careful about her diet!]

[Chie got them a seat at the inn's dining area. It was like stepping into a time machine or being in a Renaissance Festival. Not that any of them would be familiar to how that's like. But Chie seems pretty used to it, idly setting her bag on one table.

The barmaid welcomed them with a smile and to take their order. It was pretty much like a modern restaurant, only they didn't have menus. Chie's order was not surprising, but when the barmaid turned her attention to Rise, Chie was a little stuck. Right, what would Rise order in a place like this?]

Uhm, well they have roasted chicken... Do you want that?

[The lack of a menu is more than a bit off-putting, for a place Rise's never been before. Fortunately Chie seems to notice her looking a bit lost. And her suggestion doesn't sound bad...]

Uh... yeah, that sounds good!

[For a moment, she kind of... avoids making eye contact with the barmaid, looking a bit flustered. Which seems to happen a lot during this stupid loss...]
