What: Date night!
When: Friday afternoon/evening
Where: Minigolf and... oh who knows.

Between the earthquake, the Event Horizon and the arrival of Mary and Penny things had been rather hectic for Peter and Phoebe for the past few months. They'd been spending so much time taking care of others and letting emotional wounds heal that they hadn't really been able to take time for themselves.

It was high time to do just that.

They needed something out of the ordinary for them. Something outside their usual dinner and a movie or day at the beach. It took some thinking but finally Phoebe came up with a brilliant plan. She took Peter out to a late lunch, keeping their final destination a complete secret. She couldn't help the grin on her face as they rounded the street corner and the sign for minigolf came into view.

"So. Do you think you're up to par?" Sure it was bad but she just can't help herself sometimes.

She smiled happily at him, leaning on her putter, "I have a few things to be thankful for."

"Just a few?" His lips curled into a playful smile and he reached for her, kissing her lips gently.

Mmmm she could get used to playing golf this way. Of course if they kept it up like this they might not make it through all 18 holes before she dragged him home. Of course that would be just fine, too.

She rested her hands on his hips and whispered, "Maybe a few dozen."

He lets out a happy sigh, stroking through her hair. Yeah, this game wasn't going very far. His own feelings, and hers, made him very interested in moving this to their room. Peter smiled and moved away to continue on to the next hole.

"I think it's my turn."

She was at least trying to keep her own feelings under control to keep him from being overwhelmed, but it was tough... very tough. Especially as she watches him walk away from her towards the next hole. What? Just because they're married doesn't mean she can't still check out her husband's oh so grabbable butt.

Whoops. She was falling behind, wasn't she? She quickly followed behind, grinning at him, "Only if you can keep it out of the water this time." Trash talking was allowed, right?

He raised his eyebrow at her but didn't say anything. Being married just made it more open for them both. The "honeymoon phase" wasn't over, and Peter hoped it never would be. He loved how much they could still want each other.

"You'd better be careful or I might not keep you out of the water, either," Peter retorted playfully. He tapped his ball forward, making it almost to the hole.

[kungfuwitch]

She laughed, moving over to set up her own shot. Ooooooh you wouldn't dare!"

Tapping the ball she sent it bouncing off the obstacles, ricocheting off of rocks on its way down towards the hole. It finally came to a stop... after hitting Peter's ball further away from the hole.

He lets out a laugh. "Nice shot, babe," he said, winking at her playfully.

She laughs, blowing him a kiss, "Why thank you."

He reached out to "catch" the kiss in his hand and patted his cheek. Peter couldn't remember the last time he did something that goofy, but that was the whole point of this date: to just relax and have fun, even if fun meant goofy things.

Phoebe cracked up, eyebrows shooting up in surprise. That was certainly unexpected. Peter never did anything that silly. It was wonderful to see him loosening up and having fun, though. It was a refreshing sight and made her happier than this game could ever hope to.

"Oooo does your wife know you're such a flirt?"

[spongetastic]

"I don't know." Peter tilted his head to the side, smiling at her. "I hope she does. After all, she's the one I flirt with."

Be still her beating heart. She walks over to him, laying her hand over his heart and smiling up at him. "You really are too good to be true."

[spongetastic]

He smiled, lifting her hand to his lips so he could kiss her fingers. "Maybe I should be a little bad, then," he suggested mischievously.

Phoebe pursed her lips as she watched him. Oh this game just got a lot more interesting, "Mmm maybe you should."
