Simon breathed hard through his nose and nodded again.
"It's strange... to think I have someone waiting for me now. Not just River, but my girlfriend, and my friends... the people who took me in, kept me when nobody else would, didn't turn me in to the authorities even when they could have made a pile of money from it. I couldn't think of them as home, as friends, couldn't let myself think I belonged there... not until I was brought here and realized that I had all I needed there. And now that I've learned to appreciate it, it's impossible to willingly go back to it."
