"Heeeeeeey."

Sometimes it's hard to find Tim, and sometimes it's too easy. When she does catch him today, she sidles up to him with the cutest smile she can manage.

This crap with Cass and Tim has gone on for way too long. Neither of them seemed to be even trying to talk it out, so it was up to her to play mediator and at least nudge Tim in the right direction.

Whoa, there. Steph traps Tim with her knees against his sides.

"Excuse you, I don't want to be the third wheel. Just you and me, pretty please."

SERIOUSLY, TIM.

[dorkwonder]

BUT ACE.

"You don't want Ace to come along with us?" Stares off in the direction of Ace's leash before returning his attention to her.

"... no offense to Ace or anything."

You'd think she was breaking up with him. Them. Whatever.

[dorkwonder]

"Cass probably wants to spend some more time with him, anyway."

Glances down at her legs, wondering if she's planning on releasing him now that they are going to remain a party of two.

Steph keeps him trapped long enough to kiss him one more time, then lets him go.

"And I want more time with you. We all win."

[dorkwonder]

Kisses her in return, adding a quick kiss to the forehead when their lips unlock.

"We do." Gets up from the couch, and offers her his hand to help her up.

Her hand keeps his even after she stands.

"You're not gonna run off if I let you go, right?"

[dorkwonder]

"Maybe." Links their fingers together securely, running his thumb across her knuckles." You better hold onto my hand to be on the safe side."

"You're pretty mushy today, Tim Drake." Though the way she grins, she clearly enjoys it.

[dorkwonder]

"Hmm, you're right. I wonder why that is." It might have something to do with that kiss from earlier.

[secondchances]

"Too many books lately, not enough adorable and cuddly girlfriend?"

[dorkwonder]

"Exactly." Tugs her closer, pressing a kiss against her temple.

She wraps an arm around his waist as they walk. "You've been in a research-y mood lately, huh?"

[dorkwonder]

"When have I not been in a researchy mood? We are in a world with a lot of unknowns. " Not to mention there is a whole other universe with their good friend trapped in it...

"Oh, then maybe I'm just clingy lately," she teases, though really she's just changing the focus of the conversation so she doesn't get him going on about his reading.

[dorkwonder]

BUT HIS BOOKS...

"That's entirely possible. In fact, I wouldn't blame you if that was the case. I've heard I can make decent company from time to time." When he isn't brooding or his nose is buried in a book.

"More than decent, excuse you," she says, though she can definitely think of a few people who would disagree.

[dorkwonder]

"Occasionally very enjoyable company under the right circumstances." Tim can also think of a few people's opinions who he doesn't care much for.

"Where do you want to go?" Once they are outside, he takes a long, deep breath of fresh air. A little red flag goes off in his head when he realizes he hasn't spent any significant time outside in awhile.

"Sometimes you're even my favorite," she teases. When he's not being a jerk or being stubborn. Or a stubborn jerk.

"Maybe a route that has a lot of sunlight..."

She looks at Tim. Oh, she knows.

Tim is a man of many skills and identities.

Tim avoids making eye contact with her for a moment. He knows that she knows. All someone has to do is look the two of them over and it is easy to tell that someone has not been as social as the other person. While Steph most likely has a nice, healthy, summer glow, Tim's looking a few shades paler.

"So, away from the city and more towards the fields?"

"Right. No shade for us today."

It's almost cute, the way he's immediately guilty. At least she's deciding not to read into this hermit-y stretch, the arm around him giving him a squeeze as she leans in to press a quick kiss to his jaw.

"Tell me if your skin starts to sizzle."

[dorkwonder]

"I can't tell if that's a joke about the sun or if you are complimenting yourself." Responds in a teasing tone, before he turns his face to meet her lips. Kisses her on the lips and then places another on her cheek.

"It's about the sun and you, but I'll take it as a compliment, too. My pasty, pale boyfriend."

She laughs and gives him another squeeze. See? She can joke about him staying inside all the time, no fretting about his mental state or anything.

Tim appreciates it, and his body language is becoming increasingly relaxed. He doesn't want to get into a debate or a long, arduous discussion about how he spends his time. He just wants to spend a nice, peaceful afternoon together.

"Maybe for Halloween I can be a vampire."

[secondchances]

"We'll use make up, not your actual skin. I don't think it's good for you to be translucent," she says, pinching his side gently. "Just remember, Tim. You want a rosy glow from the summer sun, because when I make you blush, it'll be less obvious."

No, not really, but if she can tease him about turning red, she'll damn well do it.
