Maybe you were asleep in bed last night. Maybe you were out on the town. Or maybe you were working on something super cool, which you didn't really need to be disrupted by, oh, say a world change or anything else stupid.

Too bad for you, that's just what happened.

At the stroke of midnight, everyone will find themselves back in their assigned castle rooms -- except they're not exactly the same as they were left…

[It takes said kid a moment to notice that there's someone new nearby, and when he does, his eyes widen. His initial reaction is to be afraid, of course - this is a wolf! Wolves eat little children, after all! But-]

Wow...a-are you a wolf? In a building like this? [He casts glances this way and that before he slowly leans closer.] If you're in a building...does that make you a nice wolf?

[He's not taking any chances, obviously.]

[He's a very nice wolf! That's what he'd like to say, but he's quickly realized that he can't actually talk to anyone here. So instead, he'll roll on his back with his tag still wagging. Maybe this will make him look more friendly?]

[Whoa! Definitely!]

Vee! You're like a puppy, huh?

[Immediately, it seems like Italy isn't scared at all! He climbs down from his chair to crouch by your side and gently rubs your belly with his little hand.]

[slayswalruses]

[Belly rubs are nice, and it's been a while since anyone's pet him before. After a while, he'll roll over and nudge Italy's hand with his muzzle.]

Ehee...like a big, silly puppy!

[He's very careful when he scratches your muzzle, because even though this is a big silly puppy, this is also a wolf, and it's not nice to not be gentle with animals.]

My name is Italy! What's yours?

[slayswalruses]

[My name's Toboe! Is what he'd like to say, but all he can do is bark a couple of times. Hopefully he doesn't startle Italy by accident.

Toboe does take note of his name. He's not sure why he can't talk to him right now, but he'll make sure to come find him again and check on him as soon as he can. For now though, he'll just rest his head next to Italy and be glad that he's actually cheering the kid up.]

[He would be so happy to learn Toboe's name when he can talk! But for now he just giggles. He knows dogs - and probably wolves - talk to each other this way, and that's good enough for him. He'll scratch behind his ears.]

Vee! It's nice to meet you!

[slayswalruses]

[Ear scratches are nice! He'll let Italy scratch his ears as long as he likes. It's either this or get lost in a big city that's probably not all that nice to big, stray "dogs".

He'll definitely remember this kid when he does get his ability to tall back.]

[And for that Italy will be forever grateful! Though a talking animal might initially frighten him.]

You're awfully nice! Even if you're a wolf, you must have friends here, right?
