After all that confusion and weirdness, it looks like it might be over. The creature is encased in a translucent polygonal box, and doesn't look to be getting free any time soon.

[Conan doesn't waste any time in complaining about the situation. If they were going to survive this, they need to know about all of their options. He immediately crawls over to the bag, dragging his bad leg along, and begins to inspect the contents. He was showing a worrying degree of calmness as he inspects the possible bombs and guns.]

[Rise might have freaked out at the monster appearing. But seeing Conan injured, and still dragging himself to a bag which is probably full of dangerous things he shouldn't be trying to inspect anyway... well, there's no monster around now, so her protective instinct kicks in.]

Conan-kun!

[Rise stands over the boy, arms crossed and looking about as imposing as she can manage. Don't make her physically drag you away even with your injured leg, boy... she'll do it.]

[ Conan winces and gives her an innocent look.]

But Rise-neechan! Someone has to investigate this!

[Rise kneels down next to him, pushing the bag out of reach.]

Someone older. Who isn't hurt!

[Her obligatory scolding over, she looks down at his leg curiously, and with more than a touch of concern.]

... Is it broken?

[She doesn't know much about first aid yet, unfortunately...]

No. I got shot by that person. But don't worry! I stopped it from bleeding for now.

But if we're going to get out of here we have to be ready to use every possibility, right?

[He got shot?! Pardon Rise while she (very carefully) checks his leg to make sure he did a good job...]

Let everyone else worry about that! You need to rest...

[And also he's eight, but she's not going to drive that point home any further. She'll just focus on the injury for now, and if she has to physically keep him from doing something stupid, she will.]

Do they look like they have any idea what they're doing?

[He'd done a competent job, considering the limited supplies he'd had to work with. It would keep for a few hours, although he as still pale from blood loss.]

None of us have any idea what we're doing!

[Especially you, Conan. Seriously, he'd be able to make a better case for knowing what he's doing if he wasn't dragging himself into danger on an injured leg.]

Or do you think you can run away if something attacked you?

Nothing is attacking right now. And I would think of something.

[Sure, he'd think of something. And while he was thinking, he'd get hurt or killed or eaten or worse. However it possibly gets worse from there.

Without answering, Rise picks him up (being careful not to hurt his leg, at least) and starts carrying him away.]

You know, for such a smart kid, you're really dumb!

[Conan yelps in outrage and twists his neck to look at her.]

Rise-neechan! What are you doing?

Someone has to keep you out of trouble!
