Who: Ken (
kindnessing) and Jade (
nukeoleptic)
What: Ken pupates into the confused kid he was always meant to be. Jade officiates.
When: About three hours ago. Ish.
Where: Outside on the castle grounds near a bunch of bushes.
Rating: PG-13??? IDK about Jade but I swear like a demon in my tags
The first thing Ken realizes as he comes into consciousness is that he is not in his room at the castle or at home. Something is wildly amiss about his surroundings. It's very dark, he can't remember how he got here, and he can't even move. Naturally enough, he starts struggling against the walls of... wherever he was. (A coffin? But it's so warm in here...)
The second thing he realizes is that this situation is familiar to him. Very, very familiar.
As he struggles, he hears crackling from the walls around him. Hairline cracks outlined with light start appearing. Encouraged, he starts struggling harder...
A second before his hand breaks through the wall, he realizes two things: One, he had actually been hanging upside down and he was now about to fall, possibly to his death. Two, his situation has finally rung enough bells for him to remember where he was. In a cocoon. Again.
He yells as he falls out of his cocoon, fully clothed, and yells again as the branches of some shrubbery poke into his face and body as they break his fall. He lands in a crackling heap of limbs at the base of the bush, and lays there, stunned.

Huh. What's that in that tree? Some sort of decoration? No, wait - is that a cocoon? Oh my god, that's enormous. What kind of butterfly is going to come out of that? A butterfly monster? Do they have butterfly monsters here?
Hey, it's moving!
Holy shit, that's a human hand. It really is a butterfly monster! Dave is going to love this, I should go get him --
And then Ken goes crashing into the brush.
Oh. Well. Okay.
She doesn't recognize him at first, of course - she'd only spoken with him over the journals, and has no reference for what he actually looks like. She does head over to where he's lying, though, a sympathetic wince on her face as she glances him over, doing her best to check him for obvious injury.
"Hey! Um - are you alright?"

He shakes his head vigorously to clear it until it's clear enough for him to realize that shaking his head in answer to her question was probably counterproductive when he was more or less fine. (Concussed? Maybe a little? He hasn't been concussed in a while, he's forgotten what it feels like.)
He also gets the feeling that he's heard her voice before... kind of a strange feeling when one voice in the journal can get lost among the hundreds, especially if you're about as much of a socialite as Ken (read: not at all.) Must be someone he's spoken to before.
"Oh... Oh! Sorry." He rolls onto his side, then onto his knees, blinking his eyes rapidly. Thank goodness it seems to be getting dark already. He doesn't even want to think about daylight right now. "Yes, I'm fine. Er... I'll just need a second."
no subject
Well, he doesn't seem injured, at least, and he doesn't seem too outwardly distressed, either, but she crouches in front of him regardless, propping her hands on her knees.
"Did someone put you in there?"
At least her voice is much softer this time.

He looks around at her, then up at the cocoon and around at - yep, the castle. They're outside? Which would explain the branches, he realizes belatedly, and the grit upon landing. He refocuses back on her, clearing his throat as he parses the question. Once he does, though, he gives her a small smile.
"Well... In a sense. It's a lot more like... well." ... Ok, does she really need to know about the details? "Anyway, it was the castle. This has happened to me before, although it was a very long time ago."
no subject
But it's hardly the weirdest thing that the castle has ever done, and barely even registers on the weird scale as far as things typically go at home, so she accepts it without question and simply offers him a hand to help him stand.
"Well, I'm glad you're alright. I'm Jade! And that landing didn't look comfortable."

"-- oh! We talked over the journals a few months ago. It's nice to actually meet you!"
no subject
Well, at least with the confirmation that they did, in fact, speak, he scrolls through his (short) mental checklist of acquaintances. Seeing as how he only spoke to one girl who mentioned having doggy ears, yes, he remembers their conversation, although the details are a little foggy by now.
"... The ears." Er, awkward! Try again. "You were the one who was petsitting, right?"
no subject
"That's right. I have my own Pokemon now, though. He's a giant butthead.. but super awesome. I'm Jade, by the way."
no subject
"It's nice to meet you, um... Jade-san. Pokemon can have very strong personalities, right? Skitty can be a handful, but at least she isn't in a position to do a lot of damage."
