Mal took a seat at the bar and looked around. The Death Match wasn't very crowded tonight, which was nice, because Mal didn't much feel like talking. He reckoned people were still celebrating the lunar New Year, and he wished them well.

For Mal, the new year only served to remind him how long he'd been stuck here. Paradisa had it's benefits, but he ached to be back in the Black.

He ordered a shot, downed it quickly and immediately ordered another one.

He glanced over at the familiar voice and gave him a slow smile.

"And you look like a sight for sore eyes. Can I buy you a drink?"

"I'd be delighted, Mr Reynolds, and I take that as a invitation to join you." Which she did, easing into the seat on his left. She hadn't run across him much since the day she'd tumbled across him while mapping the grounds, but he'd made an impression.

"Are we drinking to anything in particular, or just drinking?"
