As soon as they enter the room Mason looks up from the bed, tail thumping loudly. The dog may not be able to see her but he can smell her.

"Holy shit!" Church jumped and spun. "Dammit Tex, what the Fuck?! You trying to scare the shit out of me?!"

He hated when she did that! He was so relieved to see her, but he was equally furious that she had been gone so long. Going with a brief explosive display of anger had always been easier than dealing with the deeper emotions under it.. so...
