now the party don't start til I walk in
Who: Thranduil, Legolas, Galadriel, Bilbo, Tauriel, Tylendel, Ashura, and YOU. The others were previously discussed but basically you all can drop in.
What: Spring is here! That means it is time for a party.
When: The evening of April 30
Where: Outside the Castle
Rating: ... T maybe for lots of alcohol. Shouldn't get beyond that though.
Tables have been moved outside, and there is food and wine - both slightly weaker stuff and a great barrel of Dorwinion. The latter has been separated out into several small bottles with a note of warning for the mortals who are to come (and how odd to have to consider them, it was not usual to need to think of such) against drinking too much of such potent wine. But even the less heady stuff is generally good, and hopefully there will be song and laughter and those who shall make merry to celebrate the season and cause for gathering.
[Everybody feel free to make your own mingling threads; probably specify the time and if it's closed to a specific partner or tag around to people who already have]

So she wished up a dress, and some flowers because well... nature., brought only her bow and quiver and all but crept into the party.]

Asked by someone else who was just the tiniest bit reluctant to throw herself into the revelry and had thus opted for staying on the sidelines for the moment.
Tauriel was still looking rather... martial, even if she had opted for not carrying any weapons for the evening. Even so, her clothes carried the feel of a uniform about them, though the look of it all was rather considerably softened by the abundance of flowers braided into her auburn hair.

Katniss tilted her head towards the other young woman ... no, wait. Not woman. Well, not entirely just a woman. An elven woman, by her eyes and her ears. That was much more of a uniform than what Katniss herself wore.

"That is wise, though one might want to consider the message it sends to one's host if one appears at a party armed."
Her tone was gently teasing, and the comment quite obviously spoken in jest.

"If they call you friend, then I shall as well. I am Tauriel."
no subject
"I am Katniss." She nodded towards the others - her tone curious. "Have you known them, well, as long as they've been around?"

OTA and one for dad
What was that? Your hair was fine? No no, it really wasn't. It was lacking a beautiful fresh flower crown. And so Legolas had taken it upon himself to fix that. He had spent most of the day finding the most beautifully bloomed of flowers and weaving them into a crown fit for a king. Perhaps he over did it. A little. Only a little. He made sure that there were no empty spaces between flowers and if he found one when he placed it on Thranduil's head, he quickly plucked a new flower to fill the space.
He was very pleased with himself for it, honestly. And he'd made sure not to leave any noticeably empty spaces in the garden as he'd hunted. To him, the crown looked perfect.
[OTA - during the party]
Legolas is used to the celebrations of elves. Especially those in Mirkwood. This isn't Mirkwood though and there are people from the castle in need of enjoyment! All night he would be moving from place to place, always with a laugh or a smile.
At times he might be found singing cheerful songs in Sindarin. Or he might be dancing, on cleared tables or on the ground, where ever he felts like dancing really. Sometimes he might grab someone and dance with them.
And throughout the night he certainly takes the chance to enjoy the Dorwinion wine. He might sometimes be found with a glass in hand.

He dressed himself in bright colors of red, gold, and white, his dark hair left loose and threaded with live, white buds and golden knots, his ears glistening with rubies, eyes rimmed with red. He was a representative of his people here in Paradisa, and ever now and then he liked to show off their tastes - male and female alike, a precarious balance for him given his narrow stature.
He caught Legolas after one of his dances, passing him a cup of said Dorwinion wine. ]
Proper reward for a wonderful dance, my friend.
no subject
He gratefully accepts the cup and takes a sip, sighing softly.]
You have my thanks. Though doubtless I will be dancing again soon.
no subject
Better then to replenish your energy now! I would hate for you to falter in your steps.
[ He beamed at him, drawing him to the side to be out of the way of other dancers that came after him. ]
You did look lovely out there, Legolas. I was very impressed.
no subject
I have had many years of practice, I should hope that you were~ Although it would take much more than that to make me falter.
no subject
[ Ashura sat with him and chuckled, taking up his own glass of wine. ]
Oh? It almost sounds a challenge. I admit, I have never seen the like of your dancing before. It is quite different from that of my own people. I can only imagine the amount of grace and balance you need. Do all elves have such traits?

OTA - If your character wants a break from the festivies
So she simply watches, reminiscing of old times when dragons would throw parties and drink fire wine together. How long it has been...
However, if anyone approaches, she would not be remiss to talk to them. Or scare them off, depending on how they approach her.
How can he resist?
"Greetings, lady." he could sense the surface of her thoughts, which were decidedly feminine. She was an intelligent creature - not unlike a Companion.
"Are you enjoying the festivities?"
She is rather irresistible
"Good evening." She inclines her head slightly, the closest you would get to a nod from her.
"I cannot say I have one way or another, though not due to any lack in the elves' skills in merrymaking. Personally I have not partaken in festivities, other than to watch."
Of course she is.
"Is there anything I can get you to make your time happier?" he gave her a warm, encouraging smile, "It would be a shame for you to miss out. I'm Tylendel Frelennye, by the way."
OTA
As the night goes on, she laughs often and easily and her voice is frequently raised in song. On rare occasions, she may even rise to dance, her bare feet moving lightly and gracefully across the lawn and her long golden hair flowing about her as she spins. If you're lucky (or unlucky, depending on your perspective), she may even take your hands and encourage you to join her.
OTA
As Galadriel starts to sing, the dragon sings a song in return. It is in the dragon tongue, deep and somewhat rumbling, but beautiful in its own way. She's far enough away that human ears might not hear it, but elf ears are far more keen than that.

She stops some distance away from Firethroat, leaning against a tree and listening quietly.

"You have a beautiful voice." It was strange, to hear a dragon sing. Strange to see something so peaceful come from a form which she associated with destruction.
no subject
"As do you, Galadriel. I thank you for the compliment though. It has been a long while since I have used my voice for song." Meaning she might be a bit rusty in this area.

In her hair, however, an abundance of flowers has been woven into the long tresses, so in that way at least there is still a festive look about her.
She is staying on the sidelines to begin with, but it would not be too hard to coax her into joining the fun if one cared to try. She will not be unfriendly to anyone approaching, and she doesn't exactly look as if she doesn't want company. It's just that she cannot quite make herself relax.
OTA
Beautiful. (He breathes, his brown eyes twinkling.)
