On First Dates and Interesting Occurrences
Who: Sam Carter, Jack O'Neill...and a surprise guest.
What: Being away from military regulations = first date time.
When: Evening
Where: Sam's room.
Rating: PG-13.
But he was, just the tiniest bit, nervous tonight. Then again, this was far more important in certain ways than, say, conducting a bombing run in an F-16 or disabling a Super Ha'tak with an F-302. He was good at those, highly experienced. He knew the potential outcomes. This? Wasn't those things. In some hard-to-define way it was more important, at least to him.
He had found casual clothes, at least. That was the easy part. Then he had tried to find a picnic basket, several items of food, and a bottle of wine. He was quite pleased with the wine, a '69. She'd get that tiny reference. They'd never actually seen each other out of uniform when it wasn't work-related. He'd seen her in a skirt. Once. When he'd pretended to resign. And that had been interrupted by the rest of the gang.
Well, this wasn't then. It was far better. And also less on the 'uncertainty' thing. He stepped up to her door, adjusting the collar on his jacket. And then he knocked on her door.
One way or the other, one of the best adventures he'd ever had was about to start.

She usually is, in his experience.
He paused for a moment, then got up, holding his chair underneath him. He shuffled it to the side of the table, nearer her.
"Never got why people sat across from each other at these things, when they could be closer."
no subject
"So they can look into each other eyes, probably." She took a sip of wine and then placed her free hand over his.
no subject
He squeezed her hand, however, as he made his list. It was to amuse her, or annoy her in an amusing way. Whichever worked. And there was always the possibility that she'd find a creative way to shut him up.
no subject
There was now though and that made up for it. For as long as they were here, they could keep making up for all that lost time. Especially since the Zatarc incident when they openly admitted it to save themselves.
"How about we skip to dessert?"
no subject
He detached his hand from hers to fetch it from the basket, setting the bowl of strawberries in front of her.
"We did understand each other, didn't we? And I think we still do."
no subject
"Yeah, we did. And we certainly still do. I don't see that changing at any point. And I wouldn't want to."
no subject
"And I'm going ahead and calling it a win on the dessert. Couldn't find any whipped cream to go with it, this time."
And there was something about the way she bit into a strawberry that held his attention. Could be that he was seeing things for the first time, at least in part. The other part was just that it was her doing it.
Damn html fail followed by icon fail. Sleep is apparently necessary to function
She's smiling though, no chance of stopping that reaction. Good food, good wine, best dessert and the greatest company with only one interruption.
It is, now and again. :P
He smiled, pointing at her.
"Don't hide that - it's kinda nice to watch." He grinned as he said it, picking up another strawberry. "You generally are."
:p
"Never thought I'd hear that. Especially from you. Then again, we're just working on a bunch of firsts since we got here."
no subject
He still remembered her version of the goodnight kiss. He was fairly sure bluebirds had been on his shoulders all the way back to his room.
"But hey, I've not been able to say...y'know, stuff...for a couple of years now. I'm a bit eager."
Interpret that as you will, he could have many meanings there.
no subject
Biting into another strawberry now, trying not to make it seem so 'interesting'. Or thought provoking.
no subject
He pushed his plate aside, leaning in.
"C'mere a sec," he said, with a smile, reaching out to trace her cheek and chin with a hand. Suddenly her lips were entirely too far away.
no subject
"Just a second?" Sam asked lightly, just a soft teasing sound to it but she wasn't moving away. Or even giving any sign of wanting to move away.
no subject
"For a start," he whispered, almost against her lips. Then he was kissing her, again and again, without any hesitation or tentativeness.
no subject
"Good start." She said softly going back for another kiss.
no subject
He half-stood from his chair, the better to be closer to her, his hand caressing the side of her neck, pulling her closer.
They said absence made the heart grow fonder, but it turned out that years of longing also worked most excellently.
no subject
Actually, yes. Moving over to sit with him, breaking the kiss for the least amount of time possible.
no subject
After a few more kisses he shifted his attention just a little, kissing just beneath her ear, then onto her neck.
"Feel like getting more comfortable?" He whispered.
no subject
Her bed wasn't too far away, but she was barely up for moving right now. Yes, she wanted to get more comfortable. No, she didn't want to take more than two steps away from Jack.
no subject
He sat down, then started to recline, bringing her with him, a hand on her side, pulling her closer still. He stopped for a few moments, just to watch her eyes, just to smile at her.
no subject
"Not moving too fast, are we?" Better question, did either of them care? Sam wasn't really caring if it was too fast or not right now.
no subject
He drew a hand along her side, watching her.
"Everything's up to you," he said, his quiet way of letting her know that anything that happened was going to happen on her time schedule.
no subject
"Up to you too." Sam added, softly.
no subject
The next kiss was deep, and lasting, his hand stroking the side of her neck. It was time to simply become lost in her, in being together. The consummation both had devoutly wished for.
He moved his head slightly, whispering in her ear about her beauty, and her brilliance - and how both enthused him beyond all measure. The words he never spoke loudly, never casually, never to others.
