Pool Party!

Welcome to the TARDIS pool party! There's a large pool full of crystal clear water just waiting to be dived into. Various pool toys are floating in the water; a beach ball, a floating chair, and other assorted things. There's a cooler full of ice cold beverages at the edge of the pool and a few places to sit down and towel off when you get tired of playing in the water.

Well then, have at it!

Zouichi frowned a little at a large, dinosaur-shaped flotation device, trying to figure out what on earth it was for. It looked too big for a child to use. Maybe it was for multiple children at once?

So far, everyone here seemed so... content. Healthy. And most importantly, not a zombie. Which was nice, of course, but he was sure there was something important he was supposed to be doing and aside from the fact that he had to be on his own world to do it, he was drawing a complete blank.

Frustrating.

He poked the dinosaur (a polka-dot triceratops with a goofy smile), sending it wobbling toward the other end of the pool.

Sakura wasn't sure why she was here, but who cared. Her big ol' furry friend named Scooter was with her too, and when he saw the dinosaur floating by in the water, he did what any self-respecting partial retriever did: he gathered his legs under him and leaped out after the flotation device, intent on bringing it home to his pack leader.

Look! He could hunt for her!

Sakura sat up out of her chair, leaping to her feet and running to the pool edge, whistling sharply as she did so. Scooter's ears flicked back to her, but he kept swimming toward the dinosaur.

Zouichi attempted to shield himself from the displaced water, but alas, he still got splashed. Which wasn't a huge problem, except that now his hair was wet and he'd probably have to stick around the pool for a while if he didn't want to drip. He looked toward the sound of the whistle, spotted Sakura, and relaxed a little.

"Your dog, I guess?"

Aha! Maybe the dinosaur was for dogs. Yes, the more he thought about it, the more it made sense.

There's a dog in the pool.

It's odd enough to gather River's attention, so she swims towards the two of them. Namely Zouichi, the dog, and the dinosaur floatie. She treaded water fluidly, stopped short of bumping into the large dinosaur. "That was the Doctor's idea of a pool toy, not my own." She chuckles as she catches the strange man staring at it. "It's pretty bizarre, isn't it?"

Sakura nods, though she's still trying to get Scooter to pay attention to her again. The dog hadn't stopped his pursuit, doggy paddling with great effort for the dinosaur. It brought him right by River, his nose outstretched to touch the floating animal.

He started to nudge it around, back to Sakura. For her part, she sighed, shaking her head. Oh, Scooter.

[Unfortunately she's still recovering from a bullet to the shoulder, shoulder bandaged and all, so full on immersion is out of the picture right now. Instead, South Dakota, in a bright purple bikini, is making use of the floating chair.]

[Adding 'pool party at giant spaceship in a tiny box' to her bucket list ad then scratching it off later.]

[So, Glenn hasn't seen a pool since before the dead started to rise up and shamble about- so quite literally the first thing he does is just jump right in.
He's even going to do a canon-ball.

Possibly making her a little more wet than she was about a minute ago.]

[She is slightly perturbed by this development.]

[Oh crap! Angry lady!
Quick- what did you learn from when Maggie was angry? Oh that's right- girls make no sense whatsoever. Which means you have no idea what to say.]

[South shakes the water off of her arm and starts looking for a towel to try and soak the water off her bandage. Stupid boys.]

Yeah, you'd better be. Why don't you try being useful and hand me that towel?

[Oh man, she has a banadage? He actually feels really sorry now and grabs his own towel from the side of the pool to offer her- taking his hat off of it and laying it on the poolside before doing so. Wouldnt do to get that wet...]

Sorry, I didnt see you.

[Yeah, she's not moving that arm much, taking the towel with ehr other hand with a jerk and glaring at him, before going to pat the offending area down, wincing.]

[he's kind of standing there all worried, looking really apologetic because he has no idea what to do that South isnt already doing.]

Uh, what happened to your arm?
[Glenn is totally worried a zombie bit her right now, even though there havent been any Walkers since he got here.]

[If he tried to do what South was doing she'd probably deck him for getting too close.]

I got shot. What's it to you? [Once she's content that she got most of the moister off, she wipes the rest of herself down and tosses the towel back towards the pool deck and probably misses.]

[ok, that distressed look is becoming annoyance. Hes about as amused at being called asswipe as he is being called shortround. He's not going to say anything ,though.

Yeah, he's following his gut and staying a few feet away from her right now.]

Where I come from a bandage can mean a lot worse than a gunshot.

[She scoffs at that.] What can be worse then a gunshot wound?

[Yeah that sounds weird, and she gives him a strange look before replying,]

Really? In my home we had aliens.

[Glenn sees her weird look, but really if you'd told him a year ago that he'd be running from the living dead instead of delivering pizzas and studying for college? You'd get a weird look too. Thats kind of understandable.]

Um, I guess your world got lucky then.

[South laughs bitterly.]

You've got to be fucking kidding me. Lucky? Lucky? Humanity is facing extinction if we can't beat those bastards back.

[he looks a little apologetic again.]

[She sighs.] Sounds like humanity's screwed no matter how you look at it.

Well this place isnt doing that bad.
And, uh, there are more people here than people alive back home.

[he's not counting the dead people.]

And hey- there's even a pool!

[She raised her eyebrows at him. Damn, even with looming genocide it looked like her homeworld was better off then his.]

How did you get shot? I have my gun back in my room, but I haven't needed it since I got here. [Totally giving out that information like it's nothing. Then again, unlike back home no one is going to kill him over that as far as he knows. And you dont seem homicidal to him...]

Well yeah, the bandage was kind of designed to soak up moisture. If I'm lucky the chlorine will kill any bacteria. [Sarcasm!] I'll have to change it when I get back.

[River eventually notices the injured woman floating in the center of the pool. Curious, she swims over to her. Not able to recognize who this woman was]

[Then she notices the attention on her bandage and gives it a little nod of acknowledgment.] A welcome gift from my teammate, when I arrived. Glad tue rest of you aren't as high strung as he's become.

[Five's sitting in his chair in the console room, feet up, reading War and Peace, when --

people start appearing in bathing suits. toting towels. et cetera. he watches a few, then puts his book down and heads directly for the pool room]

[River's in the thick of things. Busy being a social butterfly, well, a social butterfly in a skimpy excuse for a swimsuit. She looks up at the sound of his voice - annoyed from the sound of it]
