Tremble for yourself, my man; closed
Who: Sam Flynn and Alan Bradley; closed
What: Sam being a very sad kid after Flynn disappears for the Mirrorland plot.
When: ...during the first day of the mirrorland plot :(
Where: Alan's Room
Rating: PG at the heaviest
[It had been too long of a time since Sam slept in his own room and that suited him just fine, really. Being close to both his surrogate and real father made living somewhere foreign much more comfortable for the seven-year-old. When things got a little scary, all he had to do was pop out of his little attached bedroom and go bother one of them. Waking up well before his usual time, though, the kid can't shake a bad feeling in his gut. Maybe it's the flu or something, maybe he ate too much candy.
As he heads over to his father's room, quietly knocking on the door, the near-nausea intensifies. Pulling the door open sends another spike of terror through him as he steps inside, trying to find any sign of the older man, but it's not long until he's racing toward Alan's door, not even bothering to knock as he bursts in.]

Alan! Alan!
(After 22 days, Alan finally answers Sam's cries of distress...Oops.)
Alan's eyes open wide and he swings up into a sitting position, glasses absent from his face, still on the nightstand where he left them before going to sleep.]
What? What's wrong? [If it's a nightmare, it's a different kind than usual - Sam is generally quieter after those, needing affirmation, more shaky than terrified like he appears to be now.]
<3333
[He can't keep the beginnings of tears from his eyes. No, no this can't be happening again. He doesn't want to do this again. No, his dad has to be here somewhere. Somewhere.]
no subject
[Alan takes Sam's hand and moves out of his room, through the common area, and to Flynn's door. The only reason he picks up his glasses is force of habit, not conscious thought, and he shoves them on his face roughly.
The covers are rumpled like someone was sleeping there - Alan had seen Flynn heading to bed, too - but the room is empty.]
Let's ask the journal, alright?
no subject
Dad?
[And waits.]
no subject
And there's no response from Flynn, either.
Then a bad idea suddenly hits Alan. No. Flynn couldn't have left the Castle...]
Wait here, okay? I'll be back in a minute.
no subject
No! [He reaches urgently for Alan's hand.] Don't go.
no subject
Come with me, then? We'll check your dad's door.
no subject
Okay. [With a quiver of his lip,] Do you think he'll be there?
no subject
I hope so, Sam. I don't know how people in the Castle get to go home, but I know he wouldn't've wanted to.
