What: Relief from the heat
When: All of August 14th and the morning of the 15th
Where: The castle pool., lobby, and surrounding environs
Rating: PG-13 for harmless fun
It's unbearably hot today, so that you might not want to even move. But there's no relief to be found in your room. No cold drinks, no cold showers, no cool breeze to take the edge off. To tempt the residents out into the open, the strums of gentle caribbean-style music that seems to come from nowhere. In the lobby, there a giant spread of food including a whole roast pig, grilled skewers, tropical fruits, rice, and even hot dogs and hamburgers for the less adventurous. The cool waters of the pool around surrounded by decorations of dried palm fronds and garlands of sweet-smelling flowers. A massive tiki bar near the back of the pool area is serving anything and everything cold. Cold punch spews from the model of a volcano, pitchers of tea filled with fruit brim with ice, and there's even a dispenser for plain old ice cold water. The tar itself has a line of blenders filled with frothy mixed drinks of every flavor. There's no bartender, but as soon as any of them are emptied, it will immediately re-fill.
Meanwhile, outside, the clouds roll in, adding humidity to the already oppressive heat, the distant rumble of thunder heard in the sky. But when it's finally dark, this all changes. The clouds seems to open up all at once with a flash of lightning, and the cooling water comes down in a torrent all night long and into the morning.
