[The Once-ler has been taking a lot of things lately. Pretty things, ugly things, it doesn't matter. He just wants all of them. And lately there has been another need his mind is telling him to fulfil. So he's wandering the halls, pocketing things he can and looking for new victims]

[LOOK AT THIS FACE LIGHT UP WHEN SHE SEES HIM. GOD THAT'S SAD.]

Once-ler! You're looking better!

[That IS sad, considering the circumstances. The Once-ler offers her a smile in return]

You bet! The whole thing cleared up in a few hours, weird, huh?

It is, but it's a good thing! You're really just feeling fine?

As fresh as a spring daisy. [He'll pick up some random nicknack from a nearby table, look at it carefully, before pocketing it, all the time carefully making his way closer to her]

Looks like it's the same for everyone, weird, huh?

That is weird. Maybe the castle changed its mind.

[Which probably means it has something worse up its sleeve, but why bring that up to such a pessimist?]

[What a silly thing to bring up to a pessimist. He'll just sidle closer]

Guess it did. But hey, I'm fine with that. The less screaming horror the better, right?

The Once-ler | Greed

[Now that Luke's dressed again, he's made it his mission to do a full investigation of the castle. Which means he'll be sketching out a layout and taking down as many notes about the place as possible.

He doesn't appear to be watching where he's going.]

[Oh hey, its a kid. Of course, the Once-ler stays in his tower so much, he hardly notices who's fresh into the castle and who has been there for a long time. As far as he's concerned, Luke is just another kid.

Still, he'll pause and couch a little to glance at what Luke's doing]

Is that the castle?

[Luke nods enthusiastically.]

Mhm! I'm making a map and marking off the places I've been so far.

[whichwayyoulean]

[The Once-ler leans a little closer, before casually taking the map from Luke. This will add to his collection of random junk nicely]

Kinda pointless, if you ask me. Someone already made one.

Wha - hey, give me that back!

[And he'll be reaching for it.]

[It's his now]

Nah, I don't think I will.

[And the Once-ler's hand casually moves to rest on your forehead, Luke. Feeling dizzy? Can't be anything to do with the tall guy, right?]

I need it more than you.

[Mufasa is laying in the hallway, reading the journal, when he hears someone approaching. He looks up and-- oh, this is not a face he was expecting. He flips the book closed with a paw, and looks at the man suspiciously. His voice doesn't hold malice, but there is certainly a healthy amount of wariness and guardedness.]

It has been awhile, Once-ler.

[Oh hey, it's the talking lion which was not a figment of his imagination again. The Once-ler's eyes fall to Mufasa's book for a moment]

Guess it has. When was the last time I saw you? That super-fun happy dream, wasn't it?

The last and only time we've met, I believe. [Mufasa watches Once-ler, his paw laying on top of his book. How badly do you want that journal Once]

Which, by the way, I've been meaning to ask you about.

And here's me thinking it was elephants who never forgot. [Bad enough he's edging a little closer. Whatever, lion, he can take you]

Oh? Which part do you want to hear about first? It's a long, long story.

[Mufasa raises an eyebrow. HE CAN SEE YOU EDGING CLOSER, MISTER. ]

So you're saying those events were, indeed, a reality for your world.

[His eyes narrow just a tad.] And if you would, keep your distance. One cannot be too careful during these times, after all.

What? You mean the whole business thing? Yeah, that happened. I as pretty darn wealthy for a while, before I lost it all. But I can get it back. I'm good at that sort of thing. [Taking from everything else until it can't sustain it's own existence, you know]

If you're worried about that virus thing, it's over. It was just a cold, it only lasted a couple of hours.

[ It seems there's a plague in the castle, so Lucrezia holds a cloth to her nose as she hurries through the hallway, slowing her steps only at the familiar enough face. ]

Once, is it not?

[That's a good an idea as any, Lulu. Still, he offers her something of a smile at her approach]

The one and only. Hey, Lucrezia. What's with the cloth?

[heloise]

[ She drops that cloth away to smile at him at least. It would only be polite! ]

I heard many have fallen ill. One cannot be too careful.

Nah, that thing is already way over. [He gives a dismissive wave of his hand The whole thing cleared up in a few hours.

That is a relief.

And how have you been? [He asks that a little distractedly, picking up one of those weird little ornaments that sometimes line the tables in the castle, weighing it in his hand before pocketing it]
