[Henry is doing research.

Between all he castle's changes and Arya's loss, he hasn't had a lot of time to do it. But today he's doing it out in one of the castle courtyards, because the library was stuffy, and the pup Robb gave him was antsy. He has books all around him, and a journal separate from the castle's open in his lap, where he's taking painstaking notes. August wanted to rewrite his book, the book the castle took from him, and he's going to make sure it's as complete as possible.

However, a disproportionate number of the books are open to 'Rumpelstiltskin.'

Henry's wolfdog pup, still full of energy, is running about around him, pawing at dirt and sticking his nose into bushes (and occasionally Henry's lap). But he never wanders too far away from Henry himself.

He comes close to nudge Henry's shoulder with his nose, and Henry reaches up to pat his head.]

Don't worry, boy, I'm almost done. We can race after.

[ nymeria is the first to run up. she rears up and sets her front paws on henry's thigh for balance. her tail wags wildly. grey wind is calm in his approach, sticking close to arya who has a bunch of wildflowers in hand. all three are varying degrees of wet. earlier they had all ventured into the woods. arya found a stream she had to swim in and they had both followed her. grey wind, in particular, goes wherever she does.

arya tries to read the covers and trips up over the strange name. she fixes her grip on the flowers. ]

What are you reading?

[Henry grins when he sees them, all of them, and he reaches down to stroke Nymeria's head. The direwolves make his pup even more riled up than he already was, and he bounces around them, sniffing and nudging in equal measure.]

Stories. Ones from my world. You wanna see?

Are they good?

[fantasies]

Most of them. But you're lucky, because I know which ones are the really good ones.

[infanta]

Like what?

[ Linda's out on a perfectly innocent walk-slash-exploration through the castle and surrounding areas when notices the puppy. Such is fate that when a puppy is near, it must get scratches. ]

Hey, cute dog. Can I pet him?

[fantasies]

Sure. He's good, he won't bite or anything.

[The pup's ears go up, and he slinks between Henry and Linda to peer at her, sniffing experimentally.]

[ She crouches down to sit on her heels, offering a hand for the dog to inspect before reaching out to scratch him behind the ears. ]

Is he from your home, or did you get him here?

[fantasies]

[Ear scratches are accepted currency. The pup seems to be enjoying it, at the very least.]

Here. He was a present, from-- [a small pause. He's not sure how to describe Robb] from my teacher.

He's still little. I think he's supposed to get a lot bigger.

[Not as big as the direwolves, of course, but bigger.]

[August knows Henry can take care of himself, and he also knows that the Starks can look out for him. But he and Henry are the only ones from Storybrooke, and plus he feels he needs to keep an eye on the kid for Emma and Neal.

He comes across the kid and smiles when he sees what Henry is reading]

Doing research?

[fantasies]

[Henry smiles widely up at him, and flashes him his extra journal.]

Yep. I'm taking good notes, too.

[The pup sees an opportunity for attention and pounces on it, bumping against August's leg.]

[he notices the pup and reaches down to scratch its ears]

Great. So, who's your friend here?

[fantasies]

That's Bandit. Robb gave him to me.

[The pup looks up at August eagerly, tongue lolling.]

[Katniss was coming back to the castle far too often for her own liking ... but she had people here, and she was doing the rounds after her hunting trip. So when she saw Henry in the courtyard, she brightened and angled towards him, carrying her bounty with her. She dropped the rabbits, squirrels and pheasants just beyond Henry's area, and tried to walk up behind him as quietly as possible.]

[It's not hard to sneak up on Henry. He's focused on what he's doing, and he's not super attentive as a rule, anyway.

His pup, though, bristles at her, ears up and with the beginning of a growl in his throat. He's little, but he already understands that his job is to watch over Henry.

Henry glances at him, but not back at her.]

What's up, boy?

[She knelt down, opening her palms to the pup, so he could come and sniff her, while she answered Henry dryly.]

He's letting you know that you should pay more attention to your surroundings.

[fantasies]

[Henry nearly falls over he twists around so fast. He smiles sheepishly, reaching out to pat the pup's back.]

It's okay. It's just Katniss. She's good.

[The pup approaches slowly, and gives her a very thorough sniff-down. For safety.]

[With Hermione as a friend, you tend to visit the library a lot even if you're just looking for her. Paradisa was no different but once inside, Harry realised it was a lot larger than Hogwarts. Looking around, he spotted the boy he'd met in his home castle and approached him with a smile.]

Hi. [And then he saw the dog.] And a hi to you too.

he's actually in the courtyard, just fyi!!

Hi.

[Henry smiles broadly. It was a cool place, he's sure it was filled with cool people.

The pup yips a little.]

Bandit says hi too.

whoops my bad, can't read!

[scarredglasses]

Bandit? Nice name. Better than Fluffy anyway.

What are you up to with all those books?

no worries!

[fantasies]

I'm doing research.

[He pokes at one of the pages.]

... It's not going as well as I hoped it would.

{ The damn wolves, they're everywhere. She can't seem to visit any of the children she might have grown fond of without risking some kind of dog that makes her legs turn to rubber and her stomach to ice.

She stops as soon as she spots it, though close enough to catch the names of some of the books. Names that mean nothing to her. ]

That is quite a large number of books to read in only one day's time, my lord.

[fantasies]

[Henry looks back over his shoulder, presumably towards the person she's addressing, and then back to her. He smiles a little, confused.]

I'm only reading parts of them. And I know a lot of the stories already, so it's not that bad.

Do you speak German, then?

[fantasies]

No. These are in English.

I can ask where the bathroom is in Spanish, though.
