A few good drinks
Who: Thorin, Bilbo and you!!
What: A friendly drink? A drinking contest? Let's see where it goes!
When: Now
Where: The Death Match Bar and Fight Club
Rating: PG-13 because Thorin and drinking
If it's anything a Dwarf enjoys, it's a good mug of ale.
Thorin could say many things about this castle, despite his short time here thus far. But to its credit, the ale was free-flowing and was one of the best he'd ever tasted! The golden liquid ran smoothly from the mug down his throat, leaving the slightest of aftertastes on his tongue. But he enjoyed every swig he took from the mug, and eagerly had it filled each time it emptied. Being a Dwarf, he could drink his fair amount of ale before it started affecting him.
He was at least two pints in at this point, but it was no fun drinking alone and it made Thorin lonely for his family and companions. Thorin would eagerly welcome company, but for now, he would enjoy the fine taste of the ale given to him - what sort of Dwarf would he be if he turned down ale?

It was then he saw Thorin, sat at the bar with a drink in his hand. Bilbo scurried along to meet him and had a grin over his face. "You found the bar alright then, I see. What are you drinking?"
no subject
"This infernal thing has its uses, I've found. The map inside made it all too easy to find the bar!"
He only had to turn around once to find it this time!
Thorin patted Bilbo hard on the back and gestured to the bar stool beside him.
"Sit down, Master Baggins!" Thorin laughed, happy to have a companion now. He glanced to his mug as Bilbo asked the latter question. "I'm a Dwarf, am I not? What sort of Dwarf would I be if it were anything but ale in this mug?"
no subject
"Of course. Ale or mead, am I right?" Bilbo grinned up at the dwarf and picked a flagon from the bar top. "Then, will you be so kind and top my flagon up for me? I have proved to you in the past that I can take my ale just as any dwarf can."
no subject
"Aye, ale or mead - either will do for a Dwarf!" Thorin leaned over the bar and filled the flagon with the same ale he was drinking.
As he passed the mug to Bilbo, he chuckled at the Hobbit's last comment.
"Oh aye lad, you can handle your ale, but this particular ale is pretty strong, mind yourself!" Thorin chuckled as he took a large gulp from his own mug.

"This is good stuff. You are right, Thorin." Bilbo was pleasantly surprised at how good the ale tasted here in Paradisa. But then it was a castle which granted every wish you wanted. Near enough anyway. "People told me that time stops back home, whilst we are here. So, no one knows we are gone."

"That is comforting at least," So the Company was not in trouble without him, and he was not missing Fili and Kili growing up. Even though they were near their 70s by now, they were still young in Thorin's eyes, and he did not want to miss their development.
"So time stops there, and we continue here - does that mean we age when and if we return to our own times?" Thorin was not keen on being in his 200s when he returned to Middle Earth...he wasn't sure how much use he'd be on their quest as a doddering old Dwarf with weak bones.

Bilbo didn't want to imagine himself as an old hobbit sat within his armchair for all time, once he was back in his own world. He had too much to do and see first!

This was not entirely true, but it was the fact that the Wizard wasn't around consistently that annoyed Thorin.
"But, all's not lost Master Baggins," Thorin clapped Bilbo on the back. "We have each other!"
Thorin held up his flagon in toast.
no subject
"Yes, we do. That I am grateful for." He nodded.

Specifically Thorin recalls the time with the Goblins. True enough, Gandalf had saved them then; but his appearance sooner might have saved them much time and energy. Nevermind that Gandalf was busy with his own business, that was no concern of Thorin's.

Although, once he said it, it occurred to Thorin that Gandalf wasn't a babysitter - he shouldn't have to constantly monitor the Dwarves' actions. Besides, Thorin wasn't exactly sure he wanted Gandalf constantly monitoring him. He was an Elf-friend, after all, when push came to shove.
I HOPE THIS IS OKAY :>
Grinning from ear to ear, he quickly hops in and claps Bilbo on his shoulder while nodding at Thorin. "What's this? A drinking fest and I wasn't invited?"
NO. ABSOLUTELY NOT. XD kidding!! :D
"And Durin graces my presence with two Hobbits now!" Thorin roared, though his tone was a merry one. "Pull up a stool, Young Master Baggins! You're at least a pint behind!!"
Speaking of pints, Thorin's flagon had gone empty. An easy fix, Thorin wished for more ale in his flagon, and by the will of the castle it appeared. He began to greedily drink again.
Two Hobbits, woo XD
HOBBIT PILE + DWARF
Frodo would make a point to look around for the barkeeper, but Thorin's magical flagon reminds him that they are, of course, in a magical castle. He makes a point of pretending to hold a glass of ale in the air before wishing for it to appear, only the castle is a fickle thing and makes the entire thing fall just next to his hand. Oops.

"You sure you weren't drinkin' before you walked in the door, lad?"
Thorin was only teasing, of course. He meant no malice behind the words.
"Don't worry, we won't judge you for the castle's faults - maybe it's the castle that's had a few too many!"
Though in the back of his mind, Thorin was thinking that perhaps it wasn't the wisest idea to tease the castle when it could punish him at any given moment.
