[Natsu never likes waking up early - and his definition of early is any time before midday, basically - but today he manages to get himself to. The reason is simple; he wants to take Lucy out for a~~n adventure~~ walk, and to do that he has to get everything ready first!

Being careful not to wake his still sleeping fiancee, he creeps around gathering a few things into a bag. When he's finished and thinks everything is all set, he promptly jumps onto the bed, probably jostling the one lying there.

Shaking her gently by the shoulder, he coaxes] Lucy, wake up! Come on, come on.

[Subconsciously there's plans for payback somehow, because wow Lucy that was some well played move you used. It takes him a few moments to actually get back to eating, because she's mighty distracting]

Alright, if you say so. [He's not all that disappointed because it means he gets to eat more of it, woohoo]

Uhhhhh. [He attempts counting them off in his head but ends up starting over a few times and then gives up. Forgetful is certainly one of Natsu's middle names] Can't remember! But it's awesome!

[It certainly must be because he's practically finished after a few more big spoonfuls]

[ Osnap subconscious plans for payback. She'd be worried if she knew about that ~~so her mun worries instead~~. But she doesn't think aaaaaanything of any devious plans in the works, content in being distracting. I mean, content in being in Natsu's lap. She takes her time eating, though it's a bit difficult, because watching Natsu try to remember the flavors in his own food is making her giggle again. ]

Maybe I'll try it before we leave then. [ Since it was "Awesome". She scoops a bit of ice cream out of her sundae cup, pausing to stare at Natsu shoveling icy deliciousness away, and shivers a bit. ]

Augh, watching you eat is giving me an ice cream headache. How do you do that? [ Seriously Natsu, COME UP FOR AIR SOMETIME. ]

[He stops stuffing his cheeks when there's only a bit left (which he pushes over to the side a little to make it clear that it's for Lucy), and says, around his mouthful;] Do wuh?

[Okay so he isn't the most polite or... least messy eater in the world but, well, it's part of who he is! ... Right.

Swallowing the last of the ice cream that's in his mouth, he smiles contentedly, leaning back in the seat. He pats his belly with one hand] Ahhhh, all full.

[ Oh but -- but Natsu she...meant before leaving the.. place with the thing and not... aww. And considering how messy an eater he was, Lucy belatedy muses that he could have gotten ice cream all over her. Did Not Thing That Through. But he didn't, and probably because he knows she would have killed him dead. ]

Aw, Natsu - finish what you eat before you talk, jeez! [ So Gross, so gross. She turns away to set down her empty sundae cup, in order to scoop up a spoonful of ice cream from the dish Natsu had set aside for her. Aww. ]

You always eat your food so fast, I worry you're going to choke or give yourself a headache or -- oh! [ Okay wow. She just has to stop talking for a second because that dish you had? That combination of flavors is a rainbow of deliciousness. ]

[He had actually been trying to eat a little neater than usual because she was so close. And yes, admittedly mostly because he knows she would have killed him]

Sorry, sorry. [A bit sheepish, but the way he says it is almost rehearsed, like this isn't the first time he's apologized for something this. Which it probably isn't]

Heh, no way! Even if I eat fast I'm still careful. [Mostly. He gets distracted by that exclamation, peering at Lucy in curiosity] Did you like it?

[ PFF, she doesn't believe THAT particular apology too much. But then, she's not exactly angry with him either. ]

Really? I wonder if you even chew half the time! [ Teasing, before returning her attention to the ice cream. ]

Hrmm... [ That ... that isn't an answer, Lucy. Lucy, stop savoring the ice cream, he asked you a question. NO, LUCY, YOU ARE NOT GOING BACK FOR A BOWL. Stop being a piggy. She snaps her attention back to Natsu with a warm grin. ]

Yeah, it was delicious, you were right. [ Although now that they're done, she sighs softly because she's going to have to get off his laap. She was cozy, too. ]

We should probably head back - but am I going to have to roll you, since you ate so much?

I do too, though! [Promise!

He snickers, very happy that she reacted that way] Of course I was right!

[Though hmm. He was having a lot of fun here, and on their walk too, so it's a little disappointing that they have to go back. But it isn't like they have to go to sleep just yet! More fun things can happen]

Okay, yeah. Before it gets dark and all. [Shaking his head he flashes a toothy grin] Nope, I'm all good on my own.

[ And poor Lucy is oblivious to these shenanigans, figuring once they get back they would just relax or hang out with more family. You poor deluded soul, Lucy. A touch reluctantly, she hops off of Natsu's lap, grinning. ]

Right. Shall we head back then?

Sure! [He slides out from the booth, taking one of Lucy's hands in his before leading her out of the building. As they walk he swings their entwined hands between them]

D'you think everyone's still out doing stuff? [He honestly wonders, since he hadn't heard if anything had been planned for today]

[ She chuckles at the motion of their swinging hands, but considers the question for a few minutes. ]

Probably. There's a lot to do around here - horseback riding, paddle boats, swimming - I wouldn't be surprised if a few other people haven't hit the hiking trail too. They're probably trying to experience everything this place has to offer.

Mnn, that's true. [There really were a lot of things they could do here, it's nice, even though they all aren't staying here that long. He goes quiet for a moment and then rubs the back of his head, laughing]

Makes me feel a little bad 'cause I kept you all to myself today. [You know, since he has her to himself all the time anyway]

[ There were - but some of those things Natsu couldn't do with her, and she was reluctant to do without him. It just wouldn't be as fun! Of course, she enjoyed making friends the people here, so it helped. Bemused as their cabin comes in sight, she pats his shoulder with a free hand. ]

Don't feel bad. I wanted to spend the day with you. [ Even though they were practically joined at the hip regularly, yeah. ]

We always have fun when we're together, right?

[Well that reassurance is enough to shove away any guilt. It... obviously hadn't been that much in the first place]

Yeah! Always, no matter what. [Even in boring situations, somehow they found ways to make things crazy - thought that's usually his fault - and fun.

Opening the door, he goes in before Lucy and glances around at the empty cabin] Huh. Guess everyone's still out.

[ Pff, yeah, she can see you were all kinds of torn up over it. Stretching, she follows Natsu into the cabin, glancing around in mild surprise. ]

I guess they're really making the most of the day. It's weird that it's so quiet now.

[ She'd gotten used to the bustle of the family in at least one of the rooms. Hmm. Welp, it was a nice and fulfilling day. Now that they were back, and she was full from ice cream, she considered her next option. Maybe she'd read something - but first... ]

I think I'll head back into the room. What are you going to do?

Yeah, guess so. [It certainly is weird that it's so quiet, considering who they're been staying with especially. Natsu doesn't entirely like it, though he doesn't mind having more time with Lucy, obviously]

Hmm. [He tilts his head a little, pondering, but comes to a decision easily, squeezing Lucy's hand gently as he turns back to her]

I'll come and stay with you.

[ She can only imagine how weirded out Natsu might be by the quiet. Hopefully he didn't plan on making a fuss to make up for the lack of noise in the cabin though - that would ruin her plans to read. On the other hand, he'd probably be bored to tears if she offered him a book to read too.

Still, his decision to stay with her brings a small flush to her cheeks as she smiles, nodding. ]

Okay. [ She squeezes his hand back briefly, turning to pad on into the room that had been assigned to the two of them. ]

[Oh god no reading please. He really would cry from boredom, no offense to any avid book~~worms~~readers.

He follows, and once there he promptly jumps onto the bed, spreading out on his stomach happily. Oops, he might be taking up a lot of room but he doesn't seem like he'll be moving. The weird thing is that he's actually being quiet. Lucy, this must be a miracle.

Or some sort of bad omen]

[ Once Natsu was inside, Lucy shuts the door and turns her attention to her bags, trying to remember which one had the book she wanted. Ah right, the little pink one. Nevermind most of them were pink. Kneeling on the floor, she opens up the bag and... ... starts to rummage... ... and... Natsu is... really...really quiet. ]

...?

[ Suspiciously, she glances over to where he's sprawled on the bed, but ... well he's not DOING anything but sprawling there. It's just weird and unnatural for him to be so quiet. ]

Natsu, are you okay?

[ Maybe it was all the food. It must have made him sleepy. Yeah, that's it. Fetching the book from her bag, she gets to her feet and wanders over to the bed, arching an eyebrow at all the space he's taking up. Jeez. Talk about dragonflop. ]

[In this quiet, he can hear Lucy moving about and he listens, instead of watches because he currently can't. Her question doesn't get an answer for a few moments, and even after it's not really an answer]

Mnnn. [With his face smooshed into the comforter, naturally he can't talk properly, so he settles for that small groan.

And naturally, because of that very same fact, Lucy can't see the mischievous grin that has grown on his lips]

[ She frowns a bit, puzzled by the demeanor. Holding the book loosely in her hand, she considers if something may have made him ill. Well she can't read in any good conscience until she knows he's okay, so she sets the book down and perches on the edge of the bed, reaching over to ruffle his hair lightly. ]

Natsu? What's the matter?

[ Nuuuuuuuuu Lucy it's a trap! Don't you listen to Admiral Ackbar!? ]

Mmffnnn. [This time it actually sounds like he's trying to communicate, only the same problem stands in his way, obviously.

He feels momentarily guilty at making Lucy worry about him, but... he hopes this will be worth it anyway.

Reaching up, he grabs onto her hand, but otherwise doesn't move. He can't quite tell if she's close enough yet, hmm]

[ Well -THAT's- certainly not an answer. Puzzling out this puzzle, Lucy starts to move her hand to rub his back, the way her mother did for her when she was ill or sad. What could have Natsu acting like that? Sudden stomach ache? Ah, of course, he had bragged so much about being careful with the ice cream, he must have given himself a headache after all. Figures it would be delayed, jeez. ]

Natsu - [ Oh hey, he has her hand. She scoots closer to lean in towards him, curling her fingers around his hand. ]

Is it your head? Did you give yourself a headache? I did warn you.

[The back rubbing almost makes him want to stop this plan, because it feels nice, but no, Natsu! You must stick to your evil doings.

He waits, feeling her come closer, before he shifts onto his side and appears to be sitting up. Waiiits again...

And then in a swift move, his other arm curls around her waist, pulling her over and down until WHOOSH suddenly she's on her back and he's got her pinned down, knees between hers and his arms still in place. He leans in, grinning oh so proudly]

Tricked you, Luuucy~ [He murmurs in her ear, laughing afterward]

[ Natsu you FIEND. Lucy tilts her head quizzically when Natsu sits up. Good, he feels well enough to do that, so maybe he'll tell her what's wrong now? ]

Na- [ AACK!! She squeals in surprise at the sudden ambush, blushing fiercely when she finds herself on her back with that mischievous, MISCHIEVOUS Natsu looking smug as anything. Oh you tricked her all right. She gives a bit of a giggle, freeing one hand to shove at him (PFF as if he'd budge from that). ]

N-Natsu! What was that for? I was really worried you know! [ Not that she minds, from the little grin. ]

[Oh that squeal makes it worth it, and so does the colouring to her cheeks, and the giggle and- Okay this had definitely been overall very worth it]

Sorry? [But he's still pleasantly grinning and it sounds more like a question than a sincere apology.

He nuzzles his face into her hair by her neck, laughing more and, of course, not budging from the little shove]
