Who: Kanaya Maryam, Rose Lalonde, Jane Crocker, and YOU!
What: Kanaya introduces her human friends to some Alternian cuisine.
When: Nighttime!
Where: In the kitchen. Feel free to jump in and sample some potentially strange alien food!
Rating: Rated E for Everyone ;)
It isn't often that Kanaya meets a human eager to try food from her culture. Usually they squirm or make some other visible expression of disgust. After living with them for a few months now, she's grown quite accustomed to their reactions.
That's why the troll was surprised when Jane insisted on trying some food native to her planet -- especially when this particular human had seemed the most revolted about Alternian cuisine. Kanaya had asked her several times if she was certain about her decision, and each time, Jane had uncomfortably insisted that she was.
Oh, well. If she absolutely insists!
A large plate full of grubloaf sits on the table before the three girls (Rose had been a last-minute guest), warm from the oven. Near it are a couple of empty plates, forks, knives, and a small gravy bowl full of goopy yellow sauce.
Kanaya sits on a stool by the table and pours herself a tall glass of russet-colored blood, freshly wished and presented by the ghosts. "Are you ready to sample some freshly leavened grubloaf, Jane?"

Unfortunately, it was that kind of thinking that had gotten her into this experience. As Jane stared at the plate of grubloaf, she tried to imagine that it was something else. Meatloaf, preferably. As long as she told herself it was meatloaf, she was positive she could stomach it. And she wasn't alone, either! Rose had joined them, and it was nice to finally meet her in person...even if it was over alien cuisine.
Jane glanced up when Kanaya addressed her, and tried to give her best smile. "Ready as I'll ever be, I think."

So here she was, making her way into the kitchen in search of some snacks when-- oh.
What's that stuff. On that table. With those girls.
She knows it's rude (incredibly rude even!!) but she finds herself staring anyway. That doesn't look like something she's ever seen before!
