The room is familiar to you, as well it should be -- it's your school's library. There are stacks of books all around, and an upper floor you can reach by means of a spiral staircase. There are tables in a row, with two seats each, uncomfortable chairs made of plastic that was probably bright once, but is now worn, dirt finding its way between bumps in the rough surface.

You're here for the remainder of the day, stuck in this room, a punishment for whatever rule you broke.

Well. [he makes a face. clearly he is not so good at the socializing and needs to DO BETTER. how he ended up in detention with the coolkids is anyone's guess. unless they were in chemistry on Monday, then it's a pretty easy thing to figure out]

[ She eyes the pile of stuff. ]

I think making a death ray is a felony.

[mispronunciates]

[his eyes widen] It's not going to be a death ray, holy crap! Why would I kill anyone?

[he rolls a little coil of wire around awkwardly with one finger] I'm just trying to make things a little more interesting. That's all. Nothing entertaining ever happens here.

[persequor]

You mean like Monday?

[mispronunciates]

[shiftyeyes.]

[little smile.]

What's your name, Blue?

[mispronunciates]

[he shrugs, not minding it. it's better than a lot of the nicknames he's had] John. You?

Arya.

[mispronunciates]

[nod.] ... How come you're here, what'd you do?

[persequor]

This guy can't take a punch.

[ No one has to know how severe the fight really was—or that her family name and, more importantly, money stopped a potential suspension (or another expulsion). ]

[mispronunciates]

[he chuckles nervously] What did he do to deserve it?

[persequor]

Tried to grope me in the lunch line. So I punched him in the balls.

[ And slammed her tray over his head. Kicked him when he was down. She did a lot of things. He deserved it. ]

... Nice to know that even badtouch has fair trade, I suppose ...
