[Sheena had planned to go back to Lloyd's house as soon as she could, but that plan was changed without her permission as she succumbed to whatever malevolent force decided to infiltrate the castle and put its residents to sleep.

Like many others, she now sleeps deeply, no movement or sound except the occasional protest as her slumber is interrupted by memories and nightmares she had long ago buried.

Memories that are now alive and well and waiting to share themselves with whoever crosses their paths.

[Hey this is a place that Zelos actually recognizes]

The Temple of Lightning-!?

[Except he sees Sheena in the way of some lightning strike, and without really thinking he moves to shove her out of the way. He was about to dodge too, but he wasn't fast enough and gets hit]

[Welcome to the scene of two of Sheena's worse memories and nightmares, Zelos--one of which you thought you knew because you were there. But what is knowing without experiencing? Merely a guess or observation that can or cannot be correct.

And that experience is only beginning as he pushes her out of the way, the epithet she's ready to hurl at him stilling before being spoken as she watches in horror as he's struck down.]

ZELOS!! YOU IDIOT!!!

[wilder]

[he groans as he's on the ground, ouch did he get hit bad. But he'll still get out snark]

Yeah...think I'll finally agree there.

[ninjainviolet]

[Tears are in her eyes as she confronts him.]

NOW you agree with me?!

[Starts throttling him.]

Why?! Why would you do that, Zelos?! [Save her, not agree with her.]

[wilder]

S-Sheena!

[WHY ARE YOU THROTTLING HIM WHEN HE IS DYING? ]

[ninjainviolet]

[BECAUSE HE'S AN IDIOT!]

[After a moment, she stops and cradles his head instead, tears streaming down her cheeks as she speaks softly.]

You Stupid Chosen. I-- I don't want to see you die...

[wilder]

[This is bad, he definitely feels himself draining of life. But he kinda shrugs it off]

Hey...it's okay. It was worth it.

[ninjainviolet]

[And probably for the first time in their lives, the touch to his head isn't violent as she gently brushes his hair back from his face, revealing the tenderness she actually holds for Zelos in her heart.]

No! No, it's not okay! I'm not worth this!

[wilder]

[Oh he definitely notices that. Figures it's now and not before. But...he won't comment on that]

I thought you were. [He coughs a little] Now c'mon, go kick that guy's ass for me.

[And he'd be wrong. She's always liked him; he's just irritating at times. Okay, a lot. Okay, all the time. Like now. How dare he do this!]

Then you are stupid, you Idiot! [She drops her head and mutters softly.]

It should have been me...

[And with those words, things change. The chamber and its irate occupant are the same, as are Lloyd and the others--with one glaring exception, Sheena can no longer be seen, and Zelos is now in the place she had been, watching as those he knows and cares about perish--beginning with the one he cherishes most.]

[Okay that's pretty much a shock. One moment he's dying and now he's standing where she was before? Don't mind him as he stumbles back]

What the-

[And then he sees Seles there, getting struck down]

-- Seles?!

[All around, time and motion stop, the others frozen like statues in the sudden stillness as she falls, the only sound to be heard is his heartbeat counting away the seconds until the sound of her body hitting the floor echoes loudly in the silence.]

[wilder]

[yep, he's rushing over, quickly kneeling down beside her. This can't be happening this can't be]

Seles!

[He's putting his hand over any wound she may have gotten, attempting to heal her] Dammit!

[In the dark recesses of the mind and soul all of this is happening, and will happen again and again, every time the dream comes and the eyes close.

The all-consuming powerlessness as life drains away before your eyes, the words of encouragement doing nothing to alleviate the guilt felt.]

[wilder]

[His own throat catches and closes as he sees the life drain away. No no no no, this is not supposed to happen. Not again. Seles was all he had left of family- not her]

Dammit! Seles- c'mon!

[It was never supposed to happen--but it has. The one cherished above all others willing giving their life in exchange for a pathetic one, so a meager, worthless existence can continue on without them.

Sounds and images will be forever forged within the confines of memory, as they repeat endlessly before you in the space of a heartbeat and the blink of an eye.]
