Who: Gold, you, and a bunch of statues. Also a fake Kyogre
What: Nightmares not caused by Pokemon
When: The plot of course
Where: In Dream Land. Not that Dream Land.
Rating: G, for now
The cold stirs some long forgotten memory that was lost to time, but that's not important. The water level is rising, enough to soak shoes and make walking uncomfortable if it gets in them. The thick fog from the water clears, revealing a circle of sculptures depicting nine children of varying ages and statures. The expression of shock and disappointment directed towards you is so lifelike, it's as if they were real children who were suddenly petrified.
That disturbing thought aside, the water level is still rising. It's up to the ankles now, and anyone without boots is surely regretting it. A monstrous sound echos through the chamber.
It's a sea monster, terrifyingly majestic as it breaches the surface of the water. It's also made of water itself. And it's clearly the source of the flooding, which is by the way, half way up to the knees.

"We're in a memory. My memory." He started. "A bit before I came here, my seniors and my ol' buddy Silver got turned into statues, like you see over there. My pal Crys and I and a bunch of young'ins had to find Jirachi, a Pokemon that could grant three wishes. Problem was, this psycho who called himself Guile Hideout for all the wrong reasons decided he wanted to take Jirachi's wishes and rule the world by drowning it. That you see over there is what he wished for."

Though at the moment the biggest concern was trying to figure out how they were supposed to deal with whatever weird flood creating monster this Guile guy had wished up. He kind of wondered why he had done it in the first place, but this probably wasn't the time to ask about that.
"So... what are we supposed to do about it then?"
no subject
"Last time, we were able to beat it with some help. Someone blew a hole in its fin, and we attacked that spot together, but it looks like that hasn't happened yet."
no subject
He turned his head to look at the creature.
"So we're basically waiting for the help to show up before we actually do anything?"
no subject
"We can still try to wear it down." Gold shrugged. "Who knows, it's a memory, and memories get weaker over time. We gotta do something"
no subject
"Okay, but how are we going to do that?"
no subject
"You wouldn't happen to have any other weird powers other than floating, would you?"
no subject
Not that John would normally use them on a pokémon, but desperate times call for desperate measures and John didn't really want to be caught in a dream flood.
"I can make tornados? And with all the water in here I could probably make a whirlpool too."
no subject
"Good, that could minimize the flooding and keep it contained, unless it's the kind of thing that sucks out your energy. Is it the kind of thing that sucks out your energy?"
no subject
"Not exactly? I mean, not right away at least, so I should be able to until your friend shows up."
no subject
"Yeah, about that." Gold said, clearing his throat. "I don't think he's coming."
no subject
"What do you mean? Why not?"
no subject
"How do I put this..."
He had made trips around, and even he could put together that this was some nightmare. Horrible images, experiences and feelings. They weren't memories, he knew that much. They had been much more exaggerated.
"A nightmare never has hope." He pauses a beat. "Except for you since you're outside of my head."
no subject
"So... I have to be the one to take this thing down?"
no subject
"Pretty much. Of course, if you could amass an army, but I've been trying that with nothing."
no subject
"I don't think so. I don't even know how I got here! Much less how to get other people here, but... I think I can stop it at least for awhile."
no subject
"Speaking of getting out of here, we ought to help everyone else if this works."
no subject
If he had sleeves he would roll them all the way up right now, as it was his god tier outfit was more of a t-shirt with a giant hood attached to it, so he couldn't be as dramatic and down to business about the whole thing as he wanted to be. But he could still probably get pretty theatrical here.
"Okay, just leave it to me, and uh... you might want to get to safety if you can. This could get pretty messy."
no subject
"Messy? Aren't you just going to tornado or something?"
no subject
"Yeah, but it's kind of hard to not get things caught up in those tornadoes."
no subject
"Gotcha, I'll look for some cover, you get prepared."
no subject
He kept rising into the air, giving Gold a small salute as he starts flying at the "pokemon"ish thing.
"Good plan!"
no subject
"I'm counting on you!"
He wonders if that's a proper motivational thing to say. It normally works for him, but he's always known that other people weren't him. So he returns to the task at hand: finding shelter, or at least something to cling to.

Keeping an eye on Gold though, John charges forward towards the replica, calling out to get its attention. Not that it really mattered one way or another before buying the other guy the time he needed to find somewhere safe to hang out.
"Hey!!"
no subject
And there was no way he'd cling to Silver.
He was so lost in his thoughts, he smashed right into an invisible wall. "What the--Oh damn it Crys!" Figures that stupid thing was in his dreams too.
As he shimmied around the invisible structure, trying to find the door, John had caught the Kyogre's attention. It warbled malevolently at him, as if challenging him.
