May a Flight of Cherubs Sing Thee to Thy Rest
Who: Jane Crocker AND YOU!
What: The Nightmare Plot
When: October 5th-8th
Where: The Land of Crypts and Helium...sort of.
Rating: PG-13 at the very least.
[With all the terrible things she's seen in the past few days, Jane never expected to fall into a nightmare of her own, but it seems that no one can escape them, at least for long.]
[You find yourself in a land of desolate grey and black skies, with leafless trees scattered across the landscape, made even more skeletal by their stark white bark. Every once in a while, the sky is punctuated by vibrant balloons, rising into the air on powerful jets of water. There is a long and winding path ahead of you, and for some reason, you feel compelled to follow it.
After what feels like an eternity, you find yourself at a crypt at the end of the path, its open door a gaping maw, and from inside you can hear someone...sobbing.
Inside you find another building, this one with a broken door. It must have been broken by someone with a lot of mangrit. The sobs are louder here, and you may hear a voice that you can recognize:]
Please...not again, please! Leave them be, I beg you!!!
[Once inside, you come to a wide room, and the first thing you'll notice is Jane, kneeling and still on the floor as she gazes into...nothing?]
Stop, you need to stop...I can't watch them die again, I just can't...
[It's almost as if she can see something no one else can see...but that can't be right! Surely she's gone crazy!
Do you approach?]

[Jane, honey, no matter how many times you point to the nothing, no one is going to see what you see. Are you even sure you want them to see?]
S-She's the...she's the...oh, God, I can't...
no subject
No... I don't see anyone else!
no subject
That is, until there's a loud thud from the broken doorway.
...Huh. That's odd. Wasn't there a big hole there just a moment ago?]
no subject
What... is going on?
no subject
Oh hey, Uru, is that your ankle? Something black and long and slimy snakes around it, not tight enough to be painful...yet.]
W)(ale, w)(ale, W)(ALE...anot)(er friend of yours, guppy?
no subject
That's enough to make her go pale. ]
Who's there? [ She tries to shake her ankle. ] S-Stop!
no subject
No!! No, let her go!!!!
)(a...now w)(ere would the fun be in t)(at? Your little fronds are so fun to play wit)(...

Get off! Leave us alone!
no subject
[A pair of eyes, fuschia ringed by gold, snap open in the darkness, accompanied by a glowing grin of white fangs.]
Please! Uru has nothing to do with this!!

Jane-- [ She tries to rip the bonds off Jane now. ] We gotta go!
no subject
[They're wound tightly around Jane, and very slippery, so they're not coming off easily. In fact, one or two might be trying to crawl up Uru's arms...]
Persistent, t)(is one! I suppose I s)(ould commend you for t)(at.
W)(at do you t)(ink, guppy? We can save t)(is one for later...
N-No!!!!!

Leave us alone!

[The grin grows wider.]
BUT I'D RAT)(ER NOT.
[The bonds grab Uru by her middle and begin to draw her towards the face, but Jane reaches out and grabs her hands. Hold on, Jane!]
No!! Uru!!!
no subject
She's paralyzed in this moment. ]
Jane! It's not real-- I think it's the castle!
no subject
But this dream is neither sane nor realistic, and Jane is obviously in a fragile state. She shakes her head vigorously.]
No...it's real...I've denied it for so long, but I can't anymore! I - just - can't!
no subject
Denied? What do you-- ahh! [ She gives another hard pull. ] What do you mean?
no subject
[The voice laughs, breathy and slow.] As cute as your lamenting is, guppy, I'm beginning to grow bored. Come now, I've grown bored...let me )(ave my toy!
[The bonds give one good yank, and you're pulled out of Jane's grasp. Whatever's got you is being a tease and dragging you slowly, though, so Jane tries to scramble forward to grab you hand again, but she's being held back too tightly.]
Uru!!!!!!!!
no subject
[ And now Uru is mad. Furious, even. There is no way she's going to allow anything to hurt Jane anymore or her. ]
Get. Off. ME!!
[ She's going to try and stomp on one of those bonds as hard as she can. ]
