they're listening to me
Who: URU and YOU
What: Nightmares, etc. AKA: what the fuck we thought Uru’s brain was safe.
When: backdated to the start of the weekend.
Where: Uru’s mind!!
Rating: PG-13? Warning for blood and potential violence and language.
Suddenly... the City Royale.
It’s unusually quiet around this time of night. Many residents and natives close up shop around now and no later, and make their way back into the safety of the castle or their homes in the city. Perhaps the silence is relaxing to any who find themselves wandering the streets tonight.
Or perhaps the silence is unsettling. It’s too quiet, like it’s trying to lure those taking a look around into a false sense of security. Slowly but surely, it feels like someone or something is skulking in the shadows— watching and waiting. They’re close now. The time draws near for him to make his move.

THE CITY – FIRST NIGHT
There’s a scream. It sounds like it came from a girl. For anyone who might actually recognize it—Uru. You don’t know where she is, though. Maybe you don’t feel like looking for her, anyway. The atmosphere has become threatening and fast. The sharp gunfire sounds nearby and far away all at once. There’s yelling and now it sounds like a grown man, with a harsh voice. He sounds angry. His heavy footsteps are echoing from everywhere.
Maybe you better run. A bullet might have whizzed past you.
Yeah, you should run. ]

But then there's gunfire, and the sudden, loud bang that erupts from the weapon's muzzle startles Mufasa more than the bullet that goes whizzing by his shoulder, leaving a small burn; a lucky miss.
Involuntarily, he snarls, head snapping in the direction of the sound. He was unaccustomed to guns, and so did not know their power; none-the-less, the deafening boom hadn't been unlike thunder, and that's enough to let Mufasa know he could be facing something potentially dangerous. So he turns and runs, but only for a moment, before he slides into an alleyway and turns around, peering out to see if the source of the noise and pain was there.]

The gunfire ceases, but whoever is carrying the gun is making a move again. Their footsteps are heavier.
Nope, nothing in that alleyway. ]

THE WAREHOUSE – FIRST NIGHT
Anyone who spends enough time in the City, particularly the Industrial District might notice this building is familiar. A spacious warehouse, clearly abandoned but with temporal residence taken up. It’s dusty and dark, the only available light comes from the streetlights outside the windows or the moonlight. There are large crates everywhere, mostly unopened. It doesn’t look like anyone’s actually been using anything in the warehouse.
On the floor somewhere, there’s rope that’s recently been cut, with a knife left behind. There’s a little bit of blood on the floor and a cloth also stained with some of it.
In another room, there’s a sheet tossed over some tall piece of... maybe it’s furniture? It’s hard to discern. Again, you might feel the sudden urgency to run and hide as someone comes storming out from the room with his gun drawn.
Stay hidden behind those crates if you can. Uru’s in here... somewhere. ]

And when that man comes out? Oh fuck it, she dives for a crate and huddles behind it. Nope, not coming out from back here until that guy is g-o-n-e.]
i don't have any appropriate icons for this
Come on out, sweetheart. [ Again, he speaks in that harsh tone of voice.
He knows she's there somewhere. She can't get out... not easily. ]
It's alright, mine aren't too good either.
She presses her hands against her mouth and tries so very hard not to breathe loudly. Just stay still. Stay...still...]
jane and uru are not scary enough ;_;
That just means they have enough sweetness to go around.

Unfortunately he doesn't really get much time to regain his composure and figure out what's going on when the strange man suddenly busts in. Joshua was already hidden behind some crates, and he's not exactly sure why he's staying there, but he is. Quiet and observant. Who is that? ]
no subject
But there's an unpleasant feeling of entrapment in here. You're in. Are you getting out? Who knows. The guy in the other room certainly doesn't notice Joshua's here. He's rambling to himself.
One second he's cursing to himself and the next his voice is softer and weak. He's much more apologetic. ]

But since he can't recognize the situation from here, he's moving away, staying low while he tries to make his way around the perimeter and hopefully find an exit. This has nothing to do with him. He shouldn't be here. Why is he? ]

He is about to head over to the other room and check out whatever it is that happens to be covered by that sheet, but he hears movement inside and quickly finds a closed crate to duck and hide behind before the man comes into view. ]

Not that Two-Face is easy dissuaded from the quiet. He knows someone's here. ]
That brat.

What girl his he talking about though? John didn't see anyone when he came in here.
Though uh... did he come in here? Okay, well he didn't see any girl when he suddenly found himself in here. ]

THE WAREHOUSE – SECOND NIGHT
In the room full of crates, Uru can be found. She’s propped up against one of the larger boxes, arms and legs tied tightly. Right around her temple there’s a pretty big and nasty bruise, covered in mostly dried blood now. The skin around her wrists looks slightly torn and bloody, like she’s been wrestling with the rope for hours on end.
She’s not moving, but the silence is quickly punctuated by the sound of her taking deep breaths. She sound as if she might have been crying before. She keeps her head low and doesn’t dare even take a quick glimpse into the other room. ]

Uru. [It's a sharp hiss of a whisper, fear seeping into it despite her best efforts.]
no subject
Uru heard Galadriel the first time and she manages to look up. Her eyes are wide with fear. It looks like she hasn't gotten any proper sleep in a couple of days. ]
Ga... [ Her tongue flops uselessly in her mouth. She wants to know how she's here, then something in the back of her mind reminds her this isn't real. Two-Face has been gone for months. It's not possible he'd come after her again.
Because Damian's not here either. There's... almost no point, really. ]
