Sophie's eyes were closed at first, but the place where she was sleeping started to feel harder under her back. She could hear the soft trickling of water nearby. Water..? But why would water be indoors? Her eyes slid open.

She wasn't indoors at all. She was outside lying on her back. The smell of the grass and flowers tickled her nose. How did she get out here? She couldn't remember. Sophie puzzled over this while still lying on her back.

Tsuna had to giggle a little at that.

"Well, don't worry. There's plenty of people to talk to here."

"Is there a king?" Sophie asked.

"No, there isn't any sort of ruler here. ... well, not one in charge of this place, anyway."

So this was a castle without a king? She didn't realize such a thing was possible. "Did the king in charge die?" she asked.

"I don't think this castle ever had a king. It's supposed to be sentient, so I doubt it'd let anyone rule over it," Tsuna explains.

"Sentient? What does that mean?"

"Um... capable of thought. Something that's aware of itself, you know? Like us!"

"Like us? So if you're inside, are you in the castle's belly?" Asking questions was Sophie's way of working through things. Hopefully Tsuna wouldn't get tired of answering.

He's starting to pick up on that. "U-um... maybe?" Sophie your questions are so weird.

Not so weird, since she was actually inside a creature's stomach before. That one was a giant rock creature, so a castle having a stomach wasn't that strange.

"Everyone lives inside the castle?"

"Well, almost everyone. Some people live in the city outside the castle, too."

She nodded; this made sense to her. "So where do you live, Tsuna?"

"I live in the castle, on the third floor. Everyone gets a room when they come here, so you should have one, too."

There was a third floor? She didn't think even Richard's castle was that big. "How will I know which room is mine?"

"There are name plates on the doors. Would you like me to help you find yours?"

Her name was on the door? That was amazing! She shook her head. "I want to look around on my own."

Tsuna blinks. "Oh, are you sure? The castle's pretty big..."

"I don't mind. I can still fight." She held up her hands as demonstration.

He starts a bit. "E-eh? You don't need to fight here, though!"

"You don't?" That was new for her. It seemed like her journey so far was one fight after another. "So there are no monsters here?"

"Nope, no monsters! ...although, um, there are some animals here. But they're friendly! Mostly."

"Okay!" It would be nice to not worry about monsters for once. That meant she could enjoy her new surroundings in peace.

Tsuna smiles a little bit. She's a cute girl! "Are you going to go searching now, then?"

"Yes, I will. Thank you for helping me, Tsuna." She bowed her head to him gratefully.

"Yeah, sure. If you need me, just filter to me over the journals, okay?"
