[It took quite a bit of work on short notice, but the castle cemetery has undergone a remarkable transformation this evening. Every grave is decked out in brightly colored flowers, especially marigolds. As night falls, the place will start to glow by candlelight as well. There's a primary table with food laid out, where you can put your potluck dishes, and another small one with some craft supplies. The music playing is upbeat, like it's encouraging you to dance! This is meant to be a happy occasion, after all.]

Yellow. Rises in the east and sets in the west. It's hotter in the south.

[ She laughs, and stands up to admire herself in the mirror once more before beginning to walk away. ]

Do you have a name for the planet you reside on? The world?

I come from Westeros.

[ She saunters to the food table, picking at the display. ]

Where on Earth do you come from?

London. The former centre of the world. It has aged gracefully, I should add.

Why the former?

[nihilo]

The wheels keep turning.

That's true everywhere.

Aren't you the observant one?

Where in Westeros are you from?

[persequor]

The North.

[nihilo]

Is that the most civilized, the top of the world?

[persequor]

Yes. The Southrons are no better than a horse's arse.

[nihilo]

[ A little girl with a dirty mouth, what hasn't she seen? Alice just grins. ]

I assume that's not a compliment.

It's not.

And what are the Northrons like?

[persequor]

Northerners. And we're nothing like the Southrons. Each Northerner is worth ten Southrons. We're as hard as the land and as fierce as winter. Our seasons aren't like yours. They last years. We're the only ones who live true winter while the Southrons stoke their fires and bar their doors to a bit of snow. The North can never be taken. Not our land and not our people. Many have tried, but none but a true Northerner can hold it. The North survives and it remembers.

[ And it really, really wants to smash the balls of the South with a spiked mace. ]

[ Alice just chuckles, thinking of English politics that she hardly cares about. ]

If your land is so hard and the climate so unforgiving, why would anyone want to take it?

People always want what they can't have.
