[Honestly, Carolina's a little nervous about everyone being under the same roof for a meet-and-greet. Not because of any real fear of fighting or danger, but more that it's been a while since she's had this many strong-willed people in the same room. Sure, there's the teleporter to the Danger Room on one side of the garage and an assortment of vehicles, but she expects most of the action to happen in the kitchen where she expects they'll spend most of their time. She'd sent out brief notifications to all interested parties earlier in the day, so hopefully everyone would come and be ready to chat about plans for this potential alliance.]




(ooc: This is mostly a mingle post! I'll put up a couple different areas in the hangar and please tag anyone/everyone! ICly, everyone's meant to meet everyone. Backtagging is very welcome but you can also just leave a comment saying what your character would agree to/wouldn't if it gets too busy/full!)

[This is where the vehicles and the teleporter are! It's accessible from the entrance and can be a way to get to different rooms if you don't want to go upstairs!]

[Knock knock, guess who's here! Well, there's no literal knocking but a SOLDIER probably stands out like a sore thumb in a group of SPARTANs. Anyway he's pretty impressed with the setup thus far, what little of it he's seen; the garage isn't unlike something that could be found back home. One gloved hand runs over the front quarter panel of a warthog midsize vehicle, clear appreciation for what's been able to be built in a place like this.

He looks like just the kind of guy who should be bothered, right?]

[York wanders over casually. While not quite the seven-foot-tall glory of the NOBLEs, he's still pretty impressive-looking in that mechanical armor. These three vehicles are his, so he definitely likes to keep an eye on them.

Plus he's definitely the best driver in the crew.]

Not bad, are they? I got this one after a friend of mine crashed it through a wall when he first got here.

[Hey, when you're six feet and however many inches --Squeenix please pick a number and stick with it-- you're used to being the tall guy in the room. And while Zack's not the tallest SOLDIER, it's still a little weird to feel short next to all that metal that these guys seem to wear. Even so, this guy seems friendly enough, and Zack's always up for a good story, so he offers a grin and turns more fully toward the other man.]

He did not. [And there's a hand extended for a handshake!] Zack Fair.

[York reaches out a hand to shake Zack's firmly.]

I'm Agent York. And he sure did. Lobby was a mess afterward. He ended up going home eventually, but I had the keys when he did. Standard issue Warthog right here, complete with AA turret on the back. Great for off-roading, which is good because you might have noticed we don't exactly have roads around here.

[Two dudes shaking hands, awww yeah. Things are off to a good start.]

Not a bad looking piece of equipment, and sounds pretty lucky for you. Actually, it looks like a fun little ride, to say the least; SOLDIER never saw things like this, save the automatons out of R&D or whatever tech the Turks had.

Just don't try to drive it unless you have a nice open space. It's harder than it looks. And don't let Kat drive, ever.

Between these three, we have enough vehicles for eight. There's also a Falcon - a type of helicopter with mounted turrets that seats four and a pilot - and Kat's been working on a Scorpion tank, too. [Which is to say, they almost have more vehicles than people. Good enough reason as any to invite other people to join, isn't it?]

[Kat, of the 7' armored SPARTAN ariety, is scrutinizing Zack from behind her visor as she leans against her workdesk. When she speaks, her tone is heavily accented in what fandom likes to call 'Space Israeli']

So, Carolina seems to have a lot of respect for you. Why don't you tell me why that is?

[bustered]

[Hello up there and what is that accent even. It's okay, give him a sec and whoever-this-is will get a smile and a one-shouldered shrug.]

Depends on what you want to ask about, really. She seems like she's got a good head for command, and I can respect that. When she asked for help on that expedition, I gave it.

She has her moments. [Kat nods in return. She wasn't entirely in love with the Freelancer program as a whole, but Carolina had been one of the more-reliable ones, even if she and Kat still butted heads from time to time.]

What did you do during the expedition?

[She reaches down to make a minor adjustment to her right arm, the entirity of which is a robotic prothesis.]

We all probably do. [Stubborn? Maybe just a bit, but what soldier isn't a little stubborn, really?]

Guard shifts, watches, whatever you want to call it. A sword where muscle was needed. What she was looking to accomplish there wasn't that far off anything I'd have done anyway.

[OKAY HELLO Kat you have caught someone's attention. Automatons, robots, that sort of thing aren't unheard of in Midgar, but Zack's never seen a limb replaced in such a fashion before. It's probably pretty obvious that he's curious.]

KITCHEN

[Carolina has a slight selection of food set out in case people get hungry, but the centerpiece of the room is the large table that Carolina brought down and assembled to situate everyone at if they prefer a formal meeting.]

[bustered]

[OM NOM NOM MUNCHIES. That is to say, food's always good to gather around, right? Zack's picked up one or two tidbits on which to nosh, but eating's not really the point of the afternoon. Nope, it's meeting and greeting, as the saying goes, and Zack's ready to do both.]

[mentors]

[Hey food is an integral part of any meeting, Geal would know!]

What do you think so far? [Asked as he snags a chicken strip, leaning against the counter near the other and eating while Zack takes his time to answer.]

[bustered]

I like them.

[There's no hesitation in the announcement, but Zack had liked Carolina even before going into the whole thing so maybe it's not a surprise. Speaking with some of the others though, the assessment has only expanded; they seem to have a good setup here, more manpower than SOLDIER at the moment and a little more organized. Then again, they'd been here much longer, so it's probably to be expected.]

I like what they've got going here.

So do I.

[also, somebody is a good cook. Angeal can always admire that! But no seriously, the setup here is nice, the crew is tight knit, and even with that, it seems like he and Zack will fit in just fine with them.]

I do not think taking up their offer would be a bad thing, in the long run.

[bustered]

Me neither. I think they'd be good allies. And we might be able to teach each other something. [Such as why you don't need a gun when you're SOLDIER and you have a sword! But more seriously, they seem entirely different in fighting styles, and Zack thinks with training, they would be able to integrate.]

As long as we can still, you know, be us. [Though to be honest, both of them have experience with leaving ShinRa; both of them would be fine with doing so again, if it was another care of morals versus the organization. Zack doesn't think they'll have that problem here though.]

DANGER ROOM

[If need be, Carolina will set up a training sim if Angeal and Zack agree to it and if others want to make sure that these two can actually fight.]

[If the others are up for it, so is Angeal. Instead of going for the giant sword on his back, however, he has opted to start with his more regular sized blade. No wonder the Buster is in pristine condition.]

OTHER AREAS

[The hangar's surprisingly big, with a handful of rooms for sleeping in, space to train, things like that. Anything else can totally go under here!]

[This is Kat's home, and there's more than a few bits of her personal effects scattered around any given place; tools too big for normal hands, schematics with her scratched notations, and discarded MRE packages sorry York. She's made herself quite at home here, so anyone can find her, or evidence of her, anywhere about without too much trouble.]

[Angeal is taking a bit of a look-around after he arrives to see just what the others have going on- This place is impressive, and as much as he has been enjoying Paradisa as some sort of 'retirement', he has been thinking that this sounds important. Already there have been a few things that have happened here to worry him.

Making his way to this part of the hanger, Angeal smiles as he spots the other and comes over to introduce himself, since she does not seem extremely busy.]

You guys have a nice setup going here, I'm very impressed.

[Kat nods appreciatively. While it had been born of restlessness and a need to maintain her own sanity, she hoped it would serve as suitible emergency support in times of crisis.]

I am, Angeal Hewley. [He will move forward some to come and shake her hand if Kat wants, a formality despite his relaxed nature.]

I was a military commander for a group known as SOLDIER, as well as Zack's mentor for several years. [A bit or a relaxed smile, at that last part.]
