Where: Ballroom!
What: Borgia-Mills Saturnalia party, basically, that party!

The garlands and wreaths of leaves decorating the ballroom sure look similar. Almost Christmas trees. Pagan origins for an otherwise religious holiday. This occasion has no purpose, however, aside from merriment, freedom and lots and lots of eating!

The cooks Henry gathered are welcome to place their creations on a long table set to one side, while most of the ballroom is left clear for dancing of any form. Most of the sofas have been pushed against the walls as refuge for tired feet. The wine flows freely, with uncountable goblets here and there!

Oh, one more thing, beware the nutcrackers.

"Hm?"

Oh wow, who's this guy with his crazy hair? Well, let it not be said that Jane is not a friendly person. She'll give you a smile.

"Well hello! It certainly is. Um, you are...?"

[bustered]

It's a party! You're supposed to mingle! Well, mingle and not scare off the other guests by being too friendly, oops. Thankfully though, she doesn't seem to mind a random stranger coming up to say hi.

"Zack Fair." A hand is extended for a handshake. "One of Lucrezia's friends."

[cyan_maid]

She sees your hand and raises you another hand - to shake of course. Mingling is great fun!

"My name is Jane Crocker! I'm one of Henry's friends, and I've talked to Lucrezia before."

[bustered]

It is! Can't stick to the same old circles of people all the time, you know.

"It's a great idea they came up with, this Saturnalia, or whatever it's supposed to be." Zack's still not entirely sure of the significance of Earth cultural celebrations, but that's okay.

Not in Paradisa, that's for sure. People are always coming and going, you might as well try to get to know everyone.

"I'm not really sure what it's supposed to be, myself! But the name seems particularly Roman, so maybe it's a Roman festival?" That is definitely something Jane would be happy to look into when she has the time.

[bustered]

And let's not forget the losses! Why, you never know when your buddy is going to be turned young or old or bald or into a cat or a household appliance! It's a tricky place, that's for sure.

"Maybe...?" Jane you are delving into Earth things, and Zack has no clue. "Lucrezia said something about it having... some sort of origins, but it didn't mean much to me. I'm not from Earth."

You've got to stay on your toes here, that's for sure.

She gasps a little. "Oh gosh! I'm sorry! I keep forgetting that a lot of folks aren't. I wish I actually knew more about it, now..."

[bustered]

That earns a bit of a chuckle. "Hey, don't apologize! I mean, I don't look it or anything, right?" Aside those glowing eyes, oops.

But Jane's got an eager listener right now, if she's willing to talk. "I mean, Earth does sound kind of neat from what people say about it."

"You don't! But I still feel sort of bad about it." After all, you can't assume every human is from Earth. She should know, she's made friends with a pigeon!

"It IS pretty neat, all things considering. Especially when you consider some of the consistencies between peoples' Earths." She's thinking of Betty Crocker of course, but she knows there are others. "Who would ever think that so many different Earths would still have things in common?"
