What: Borgia-Mills Saturnalia party, basically, that party!

The garlands and wreaths of leaves decorating the ballroom sure look similar. Almost Christmas trees. Pagan origins for an otherwise religious holiday. This occasion has no purpose, however, aside from merriment, freedom and lots and lots of eating!

The cooks Henry gathered are welcome to place their creations on a long table set to one side, while most of the ballroom is left clear for dancing of any form. Most of the sofas have been pushed against the walls as refuge for tired feet. The wine flows freely, with uncountable goblets here and there!

Oh, one more thing, beware the nutcrackers.

"Well let me cut you a piece, then!" Plates, forks, knives...yep, everything's right there! She'll cut you a nice sized slice and promptly present it to you. "After all, we won't know how good it is until someone tries it."

[fantasies]

"Okay. Drumroll."

He taps his fingers on the table with one hand and finagles a piece off the pie with the fork in his other. He looks up at her for a moment of suspense...

... and then pops it in his mouth.

He chews for a second, and then bobs his head eagerly.

"'S good! Really, really good!"

She laughs a little at the prompt drumroll and watches patiently. The nodding head makes her light up.

"Is it really?" She'll go and cut herself a little piece now, and she'll take a bite...

"Oh! Oh, wow, it IS!" She finally made a baked good with someone and it came out really well! She may be hopping a little on her heels right now.

"Right?" He scoops another bite into his mouth, and grins around the fork. There, that at least cheered her up a little bit. "We're a really good team."

"We are! We should collaborate more often." She really means that, too! She loves making things with people, it's a lot of fun. Even the mistakes are fun.

[fantasies]

"Yeah, definitely! Maybe one day I can graduate to cupcakes. Or even regular cakes."

He hadn't expected to like it as much as he did, honestly. But any baking he'd done in the past had been with Regina and, well.... Any activity is a step up when it's done with a friend over Regina.

[cyan_maid]

"Cupcakes aren't too far from regular cakes!" She brings a hand to her chin and considers what the various skill levels of baking would be. "I suppose after practicing some pies and crust techniques, you could graduate to cookies - and they are just a boatload of fun, there are literally dozens upon dozens of different kinds. Then I think you would be ready for cupcakes."

She's grinning, but she's pretty serious about this.

He gapes a little.

"Wow, there is way more stuff in baking than I thought there was."

[cyan_maid]

"There is literally an entire world of baking out there! You could probably find all sorts of books on it in the library if you wanted to."

That also could be a subtle hint for him to go ahead and pick something that he wants to try for next time.

He rubs his chin mock-thoughtfully.

"Maybe I will. I want to make sure I get really good at this."

[cyan_maid]

"Really now? Any particular reason?" She can't help but be curious!

[fantasies]

"I dunno." He pokes at the pie on his plate a little. He hadn't thought much beyond wanting to do it. "I guess I just want to be good at something, you know?"

[cyan_maid]

That makes her smile. "Well, being a good baker is an awfully useful thing to be good at. I'd be more than happy to teach you all I know, even if I can't do it as well as I should."

[fantasies]

He smiles wide, positively thrilled. It doesn't seem to occur to him that this is a learning process just as much as ordinary school is.

"That's okay. You did really good regardless. I mean, proof."

He takes another big bite of the pie.

But that's okay! Cooking and baking are fun kinds of learning where you can eat your results and can always experiment and improve. It's like science, only tastier.

Aw, that's sweet of you to say, Henry. "I couldn't have done it without your help."

[fantasies]

"That's why we've got teamwork." It comes out a little muffled, through his chewing. "You help me and I help you."

[cyan_maid]

"Don't eat with your mouth full," She says, but it's with a smile. She is definitely in agreement with you there.

He starts to say 'okay,' catches himself, and lifts an arm to cover his mouth while he giggles.

He swallows. "Sorry."

She chuckles. "It's alright! No harm done."
