Loss Time!

Who: Legolas and Elrond, Galadriel and Celeborn, and OPEN
What: Legolas is bitty-fied after wishing for a gift for Elrond
When: Christmas Eve
Where: Elrond’s room, kitchen
Rating: G

Elrond
The small golden haired child was, admittedly, confused when he came to, curled up outside someones room next to a barrel of wine. Well, this was odd and that was actually a bit of an understatement. At least there was a name on the barrel.

“Elrond?” Huh. That name looks familiar. Glancing up at the name marked on the door, he realized why. The same name was marked there! He couldn‘t just leave this outside the room, anybody could take it and that would just be rude! And he recognized the design on the barrel, it was from Mirkwood. So it definitely should be wasted.

Fixing his clothes so that it didn‘t look like he‘d slept in them, he knocked at the door.

OPEN
By now, Legolas had found his way to the kitchen and was climbing onto the counters to look in cabinets and find something to eat. It didn‘t take him long to find something that looked good (not as good as food cooked in Mirkwood but good enough) and he jumped down and started nibbling at it before looking around.

Galadriel and Celeborn
After eating a bit with others and adventuring around the castle some more, Legolas eventually got back to the kitchen and investigated a bit more. Eventually turning up a bottle of wine. Well, no one was around to say no…

He‘s not used to bottles for wine, and the cork is sticking out a bit so he‘ll try to yank it out with his hands and fail. And then resort to trying to use his teeth. This is how a certain pair of elves may find him!

It was all the clatter coming from the kitchen that caused Celeborn to investigate. At first, he had assumed that someone was cleaning up the pots and pans until he spotted a little rascal chomping down upon a wine cork. The image itself of the elfling trying to open the wine was comical enough, but Celeborn didn't laugh. Instead, he slipped into the kitchen and reached for the wine bottle with a slight grin upon his lips.

"What is the meaning of this, my child?" He asked with some humor in his tone. Goodness, he almost forgotten how troublesome children could be, but he had hoped that the Prince of Mirkwood still kept some sense about him. Nevertheless, he moves the wine out of the little elf's reach in hopes of forcing some sort of explanation from the boy.

"Tell me or I shall pour the contents of this bottle down the nearest drain."

And Galadriel was not far behind him, trying to hide the smile threatening to break out across her face. She's amused by Legolas's antics, true enough, but she was also pleased to see, once again, how easily Celeborn slips into a paternal role.

For the moment, she hangs back in the doorway, watching.

An elegant silver eyebrow arched as he watched the youth slide off the bottle. Honestly, what's with the prince and alcohol? Celeborn had never known the Silvan to be so fond of their liquor. "Must you cling to it so shamelessly?" He asked once the elfling fell to the floor.

While he knows that this current form that Legolas donned was another foul trick caused by forces unknown, Celeborn couldn't stomach the idea of allowing the elfling to consume alcohol while stuck in this form. It just didn't seem right to him. "A little?" He chuckled lightly once the boy hung from his arm. The Silver Lord could only imagine how much hell Legolas must put his lord father through. Even the Elvenking must've had a time trying to raise the boy.

"So much desperation for a little bit of wine?" Celeborn wisely held the bottle up a little higher now. "I think not. You should be drinking milk more so than wine, little one." He was bound to catch some Legolas' ire soon. The Mirkwood Prince won't stand for this sort of treachery.

At this she steps into the room more fully, still looking faintly amused.

"Perhaps he might have a small glass with dinner, my lord? If he behaves?" It really wasn't unusual for elf children to be allowed that, after all. Or human children, for that matter.

Celeborn gave his dearest wife a quick look before sighing at the notion of allowing Legolas any wine at all. The elfling shan't behave and he already knew it. Legolas seemed far more impish as a child than an adult, something that the Silver Lord wasn't looking forward to seeing. He could only imagine how uncontrollable the youth might become with a glass or two of wine in his system, and it worried him. Nevertheless, it was customary for children to have some wine with their dinner. If Legolas tried to get more than just that, Celeborn will sternly state otherwise.

With a sigh he replied. "Very well." He lowered the wine back down within arms reach to Legolas. "Whatever sort of drunkenness befalls the youth shall be your task to handle." Celeborn warned Galadriel with a level of playfulness in his tone. Surely his dear wife realizes that the elfling plans to guzzle the wine down faster than he can swallow.

Finally approaching the two other elves, Galadriel took the wine bottle from Celeborn's hand and placed it back on a high shelf. She may be a little more forgiving than her husband, but she had no intention of letting little Legolas off lightly; he will have as much as she allows, when she allows him and no more.

"I believe I will manage." She answered, matching Celeborn's playful tone.

A smile lingered upon this typically bored expression as he watched the elfling. Legolas was pouting. Obviously a tad upset because of how high Galadriel placed his wine upon the shelf. The elfling shan't be able to climb that high up without getting caught. The two of them were onto his games, and Celeborn vowed now to let the youngster drink himself into a stupor while in this childlike form.

"Come now, Legolas." Celeborn whispered as he offered his hand to the elf. "Enough of that pouting."

She hoped Celeborn noticed how easily he seemed to slip into these paternal roles. It said something of him, she thought, that even without memories of their daughter, he was so quick to play the part of the father. But Legolas required her attention now and she turned her thoughts and her eyes to him. Did he know who they were, she wondered?

"Tell me, my young friend. Have you yet explored this place? Or did you go in seek of wine before answers?"

If the child hadn't possessed most of Thranduil's features, Celeborn wouldn't have known his name so easily. Not even Legolas himself could deny that he bears a striking likeness to the Elvenking. While Legolas was indeed fairer than his lord father, only a fool wouldn't be able to tell the elfling's origins by looking at him.

Now holding Legolas by his hand, Celeborn turned to his wife again. The child's answer was innocent enough, but that still didn't explain why he wanted a bottle of wine more so than food. Ah, children. Such a special breed they are. "Yet not hungry enough to seek food?" He questioned with a small hint of a smile. "Such a silly thing. You shall have your wine only during your dinner." He warned somewhat sternly.

"I have my eye on you."

"And what shall we do with him until supper, my lord?" She can't help but look amused at the whole situation. As far as castle losses go, this was fairly harmless, after all, and she does adore children.

"He will need looking after."

A small smile danced upon his lips as he regarded the pouting child. Did the Elvenking honestly had such difficulties raising such a impish elf? Celeborn certainly hoped so. While he may not be able to remember much about his darling daughter, Celeborn doubted that his beloved Celebrian was as mischievous as this little elf. "Yes, you do." He replied quickly as he lead Legolas out of the pantry. "In fact, I'm thinking that perhaps we should lock you away within the nearest room and throw away the key." He joked lightly with a chuckle.

"But fear not. We shan't humiliate you in such a way." Instead of throwing the elfling into the nearest room, Celeborn offered the child a few scraps of candy instead. His wife needs not know that he planned to spoil the boy with taffy and liquorice until dinner time. That will be their little secret.

"You shall have your wine soon enough."

It's certainly best that she doesn't know Celeborn's intentions- though it's going to be a bit difficult to hide when the child has no appetite for supper.

"And in the meantime, you shall not want for company." Company, babysitters, same thing, right?

Celeborn gave the little elf a quick smile before patting him on his head. "You would rather go play than spend time with us?" He shook his head in disapproval. "I'm actually hurt, but I guess it cannot be helped." After successfully ruffling that fluffy blond mane, Celeborn shooed the child away.

"Go. Off with you before we change our minds." He playfully grumbled as he waved Legolas off. "Just please stay out of trouble."

Galadriel just laughed and nodded in agreement with her husband, lightly laying a hand upon his arm before addressing Legolas herself. "As you wish, then. But do not think we will not hear of any mischief."

A knock on his door? Well whatever could this be? With a bit of a sigh (He's getting gifts ready, don't judge him Legolas) he opens the door, and stares.

Oh please let this be someone newly arrived, pleased.

"May I help you?"
