Loss Time!
Who: Legolas and Elrond, Galadriel and Celeborn, and OPEN
What: Legolas is bitty-fied after wishing for a gift for Elrond
When: Christmas Eve
Where: Elrond’s room, kitchen
Rating: G
Elrond
The small golden haired child was, admittedly, confused when he came to, curled up outside someones room next to a barrel of wine. Well, this was odd and that was actually a bit of an understatement. At least there was a name on the barrel.
“Elrond?” Huh. That name looks familiar. Glancing up at the name marked on the door, he realized why. The same name was marked there! He couldn‘t just leave this outside the room, anybody could take it and that would just be rude! And he recognized the design on the barrel, it was from Mirkwood. So it definitely should be wasted.
Fixing his clothes so that it didn‘t look like he‘d slept in them, he knocked at the door.
OPEN
By now, Legolas had found his way to the kitchen and was climbing onto the counters to look in cabinets and find something to eat. It didn‘t take him long to find something that looked good (not as good as food cooked in Mirkwood but good enough) and he jumped down and started nibbling at it before looking around.
Galadriel and Celeborn
After eating a bit with others and adventuring around the castle some more, Legolas eventually got back to the kitchen and investigated a bit more. Eventually turning up a bottle of wine. Well, no one was around to say no…
He‘s not used to bottles for wine, and the cork is sticking out a bit so he‘ll try to yank it out with his hands and fail. And then resort to trying to use his teeth. This is how a certain pair of elves may find him!

"What is the meaning of this, my child?" He asked with some humor in his tone. Goodness, he almost forgotten how troublesome children could be, but he had hoped that the Prince of Mirkwood still kept some sense about him. Nevertheless, he moves the wine out of the little elf's reach in hopes of forcing some sort of explanation from the boy.
"Tell me or I shall pour the contents of this bottle down the nearest drain."

For the moment, she hangs back in the doorway, watching.

"No, don't!"
Jumping again, he ends up grabbing hold of Lord Celeborn's arm.
"I wanted only a little."

While he knows that this current form that Legolas donned was another foul trick caused by forces unknown, Celeborn couldn't stomach the idea of allowing the elfling to consume alcohol while stuck in this form. It just didn't seem right to him. "A little?" He chuckled lightly once the boy hung from his arm. The Silver Lord could only imagine how much hell Legolas must put his lord father through. Even the Elvenking must've had a time trying to raise the boy.
"So much desperation for a little bit of wine?" Celeborn wisely held the bottle up a little higher now. "I think not. You should be drinking milk more so than wine, little one." He was bound to catch some Legolas' ire soon. The Mirkwood Prince won't stand for this sort of treachery.

"Perhaps he might have a small glass with dinner, my lord? If he behaves?" It really wasn't unusual for elf children to be allowed that, after all. Or human children, for that matter.

He would have whined and found some way to object to the silver lord had Galadriel not stepped in. Releasing his hold on his arm, Legolas flopped back to the ground and looked between them.
"I can behave!"
Whenever they were around.

With a sigh he replied. "Very well." He lowered the wine back down within arms reach to Legolas. "Whatever sort of drunkenness befalls the youth shall be your task to handle." Celeborn warned Galadriel with a level of playfulness in his tone. Surely his dear wife realizes that the elfling plans to guzzle the wine down faster than he can swallow.
no subject
"I believe I will manage." She answered, matching Celeborn's playful tone.

"Come now, Legolas." Celeborn whispered as he offered his hand to the elf. "Enough of that pouting."
no subject
"Tell me, my young friend. Have you yet explored this place? Or did you go in seek of wine before answers?"
no subject
"I've done a little exploring but very little. I was hungry." And then he found the wine and was mostly distracted from nibbling on what he'd found.

Now holding Legolas by his hand, Celeborn turned to his wife again. The child's answer was innocent enough, but that still didn't explain why he wanted a bottle of wine more so than food. Ah, children. Such a special breed they are. "Yet not hungry enough to seek food?" He questioned with a small hint of a smile. "Such a silly thing. You shall have your wine only during your dinner." He warned somewhat sternly.
"I have my eye on you."

"He will need looking after."
no subject
The younger elf nearly stuck his tongue out at Celeborn but thought better of it between the two elves. That would surely get him into trouble! And he preferred not to get caught.
"I don't need looking after." Muttered but he knew they would hear him.

"But fear not. We shan't humiliate you in such a way." Instead of throwing the elfling into the nearest room, Celeborn offered the child a few scraps of candy instead. His wife needs not know that he planned to spoil the boy with taffy and liquorice until dinner time. That will be their little secret.
"You shall have your wine soon enough."
no subject
"And in the meantime, you shall not want for company." Company, babysitters, same thing, right?
no subject
At least he could sigh in relief as his humiliation was avoided. Even better when Celeborn slipped him the candy and he looked up curiously at the taller elf before grinning and slipping it into his pocket.
"I'd rather go play, my Lady." Might as well be polite. And definitely not the same thing. Babysitters are boring and made to escape from.
no subject
"Go. Off with you before we change our minds." He playfully grumbled as he waved Legolas off. "Just please stay out of trouble."

Oh please let this be someone newly arrived, pleased.
"May I help you?"
no subject
"This barrel of wine has your name on it. If your Elrond." He'll just drag it closer to the door with a smile.
