Nothing like a day at the movies

Cramped seats, popcorn dripping with butter, sticky floors and drinks that never seem to last through the whole flick. There really is nothing like going to the movies.

Word had spread through the week since Nora had issued her blanket invitation to the castle and the day had finally come for a movie marathon at the theatre. The popcorn was hot and the projector was ready. All that remained was for everyone to show up and pick a movie

"No, not a spell. Its because of what I am." He refuses to look at her as he answers.

Whoa hey that's not exactly the reaction she was expecting. "Oh, uh, if you don't wanna talk about it that's cool. I was just curious..."

"I never want to talk about it. The castle usually has other ideas about that." And this was the real reason Danny resented the castle so much.

She frowns "The castle makes you talk about it?"

He scowls. "It won't let me lie. About anything."

"About anything" Her eyes widen. Wow that has to be one of the worst losses she's ever heard.

"Dude that sucks! I'm sure people could take advantage of that, too."

"No one has yet. But I can think of half a dozen people back home who would. And that's without trying very hard." He shudders. "Mostly because of the walking through walls... thing. I really seriously do not want to be dissected."

She bites her lip, nodding as she thinks, "Hey you probably wouldn't get dissected here. There are lots've people who can do magic and shit. It's not that weird, here."

She pauses before smiling at him, "And hey if anyone gives you a hard time you just tell 'em to talk to me and I'll set their asses straight."

"Probably isn't a definitely." But he appreciated the sentiment.

"No that's true. Well I can at least promise that Mark and I won't. And we won't tell anyone, either." She means it, too. She wouldn't tell anyone unless she knew he'd be cool with it.

"...Thanks. I really mean that." Even after all these months in the castle there was a part of Danny that just kept waiting for everything to go horribly wrong.
