Nothing like a day at the movies

Cramped seats, popcorn dripping with butter, sticky floors and drinks that never seem to last through the whole flick. There really is nothing like going to the movies.

Word had spread through the week since Nora had issued her blanket invitation to the castle and the day had finally come for a movie marathon at the theatre. The popcorn was hot and the projector was ready. All that remained was for everyone to show up and pick a movie

Nora grinned as she skipped down the aisle of the theatre. Her skirts swished around her legs as she practically danced her way across the floor. She'd been looking forward to this all week! Even longer than that if you count how long the idea had been floating around in her head. Movie marathons are one thing but a movie marathon in an actual movie theatre was just going to be too cool for words.

She hopped up in front of the screen and smiled at everyone, "Alright. What does everyone want to watch?"

Despite Dirk's anti-social behaviour, when Nora makes her way to the front of the theater, he can't help but break his silence when she speaks. "Preferably something not lame," he speaks up, shrugging casually. "Other than that, I have no preferences."

"Gremlins or nada."

Dave calls out from his seat, arms folded over his chest and a single eyebrow raised over his shades. He looks pretty damn comfy since it seems as if the chair is eating him, that's how far he's sunk backward into it.

Amidst the small crowd of people bustling into the theater, a particularly tiny figure struggles to avoid being stepped on. He ducks down one of the aisles, peering up at the towering seats with a rather hopeless expression. After a few moments of puzzling over his dilemma, a flicker of determination fills his one eye, and 5 makes a leap for one of the unoccupied seat cushions.

He'll have to climb up onto the back of the chair if he wants any chance at actually catching the movie, granted... but he's never really seen one, and he's undoubtedly excited by the opportunity.

Danny watches the tiny guy climbing up the seat with some confusion. The castle had doll people now?

But whatever he was, he looked like he could use some help. And Danny never had been able to resist the urge to help.

"Hey, you need a lift?"

So yeah. Dirk was all for movies and everything, but it wasn't like he was there completely of his own free will. A certain Jane Crocker had a lot to do with Dirk being here, what with saying he needed to make friends and all. On some level, he agreed, but this wasn't exactly his ideal way to go about doing that. It wasn't as if he expected anyone to share his taste in movies. Who knew, though. Maybe it would be that bad. It was hard though, when you're just sort of socially awkward like he is, and have been holed up in your room the last few months.

Dirk wasn't too worried about getting a good seat, though he did have a small bag of popcorn just to give his hands something to do as he sat down in one of the back seats. Anyone is free to approach him, though he doesn't really look like he's going to do much approaching himself.

And, of course, Jane is very sure to approach him.

"There you are!" She beams, and holds out a bag of orange gummies she snagged from the concession stand. They were sort of like a bribe and an apology all in one of the 'sorry I made you be social but trust me this will be good in the long run' variety. "I got these for you!"

Luckily, Dave can see that hair from miles away. It doesn't take long for him to catch sight of it and meander toward it. He doesn't address himself before he sits next to him, but he turns to look at him and pretends to be super fucking surprised by the fact that he's there.

"Oh shit, man. If I'd known this was a ghost theatre I would've brought a god damn torch." He gives him a flat look, raising an eyebrow up at him.

Danny claims a seat right down at the front of the theater and cheerfully sprawls over it with popcorn and soda in hand. Finally, this was the chance to do something normal. And he intended to enjoy every second of it.

Hey look, someone Nora hasn't met before. She heads on over with a smile "Hey!"

He might intend to enjoy it, but here's to hoping he enjoys disappointment, because James has never been to one of these movie things before, and he's sitting himself down next to Danny more than ready to ask obnoxious questions throughout the entire thing.

First though he's turning to Danny to make some small talk while people seem to be settling in here.

"Hello."

Ted has heard about this theater, but this is his first time inside it. He has some popcorn and a soda, so he's set for whatever is about to happen.

Danny grins lazily at the kid in the seat nearby. "First time here?"

A movie night sounded positively normal compared to all the things that went on in Paradisa, the recent pie escapades particularly fresh in Jane's mind. But it was good to do something normal every once in a while!

Presently, Jane sat perched on the arm of a chair, her movie snacks tempting but untouched in her lap. She's looking around the theater for people she knows, AND for people she doesn't know.

Well, Ted didn't know that many people in the theater, but he was friendly and curious about everyone in the castle. Plus this girl wasn't eating her snacks. That was strange enough to catch attention.

"Aren't you hungry?" he wondered.

"Hey--!"

A tiny voice pipes up from a nearby seat a row or two away, almost inaudible over the rest of the chatter. 5 waves to his friend rather enthusiastically, considering his normally demure disposition, hoping that she'll notice him from where he now sits perched atop the back of a chair. This place is dark, and so far he hasn't seen anybody he really knows, so seeing a familiar face is a huge relief for him.

Ashley wasn't really expecting much out of this little thing, but it was something to keep her occupied and that was about all she really cared about at the moment. It would keep her busy and besides, she'd promised James if he went, she would. Best agreement, right?

So there she was, glancing around and looking far more confident than she should. "All right. First thing's getting popcorn. You ready for this?"

She was teasing James, but she was also more than willing to talk to anyone who might want to approach her.

[Thanks to a certain blonde, it's been awhile since Tim's enjoyed a good movie marathon. Not to say he hasn't been enjoying himself with other things, because he definitely has been, but going out to the movies has always been one of his favorite past times.

Hums to himself while he stands in line, eyeing the different combo options. Thankfully, the prices are far more reasonable than they are in Gotham. Otherwise, he'd be leaving the theater broke.]

Rise makes her way in to the theater with her snacks: candy and a small soda, of course. She can't stand that fake-buttered movie theater popcorn! Not because of the taste, but it's super unhealthy, and she has a better chance of maintaining her figure with some chocolate and sugar than a bucket of that stuff.

She moves down the aisle and stops at a seat in the middle - not so far up front she'll break her neck looking at the screen, but still pretty close. She doesn't know who else Nora invited to this thing, but she's all for meeting anyone new! As long as they don't sit near her and ruin the fun of the movies...

Jennifer had debated with herself over whether to accept the invitation to the movie theater, finally deciding that it fit well with her new resolution to try and put herself out there more and make new friends. And, hey, the chance to eat an enormous container of over-buttered popcorn wasn't one she was keen on passing up.

Balancing said tub of popcorn and a huge drink was proving tricky as she made her way towards the theatre, however, and she hoped she wasn't going to bump into anyone.

He wasn't really entirely sure why he decided to go, but he figured why the hell not. It was at least something normal to do in this place, so he was willing to take a day off of going to the game room for it.

Of course, he wasn't really feeling like mingling with too many people, so in one of the theater corners would be Pixy. On the seat beside him, curiously, was a little plush jet that he was just recently given. He had been fiddling with it before he came out and hadn't realized he was still carrying it. It had no intention of eating much popcorn, at least.

James is here on a promise from Ashley but even he doesn't complain to loudly at the chance to come. It's time with her and he's not about to complain about that, even if he'd rather do it over dinner. Which would explain his book, a new copy of some sci-fi novel he had gotten from Alan before he left, and with a bit of grumbling he had even gotten himself a small book light and had promptly gone to find himself (and Ashley) a seat after getting popcorn.

And he's trying so hard not to stick out like a sore thumb at his age being here with a book, but it's James and he's a miserable failure at that.

Gren walks in bearing both a large smile and a small cooler in one hand. It's been a few weeks since he's made it up to the castle, and it was the same destination last time as well. The place is almost starting to feel like an old friend. And with the small crowd Nora has managed to gather, there was little chance of any unsightly incidents.

Of course, drinks weren't the only thing he'd brought along. Vicious was also in tow like his own personal thundercloud, though Gren didn't seem to notice.

He gives Nora a wave once he manages to catch her eye.

Giotto had decided to come along since Nora had invited practically everyone and he hadn't seen a movie before, since they hadn't even existed in his time. He found a seat near the front, sitting down and trying not to look too out of place in here and waiting for the movies to start.
