Tar, tar everywhere. It was black, sticky, and warm to the touch--which Steph discovered, as it clung to her arms and neck. It didn't take too long for her to realize that many in the castle were being afflicted by this, so she tried to tough through it. It would stop eventually, and she had things to do. There was still a lot to be done in the city, before she and Cass left on the expedition.

However, the more she touched, the more tar seemed to come from her hands.

She wasn't going to be useful to anyone today, let alone herself, she came to realize.

What was the logical response?

To lay down on the grass in front of the castle, of course. Maybe if she didn't touch anything for a while, the sticky goo would recede. In the meanwhile, staring at the sky seems like a good option.

Yeah, castle. She gets the irony. She messes up everything she touches. Ha ha.

She makes a face of barely-contained amusement. "Are we at the sponge bath stage of the relationship?"

[dorkwonder]

Poor Tim. Every time he tries to make the situation better, he somehow makes it more awkward for himself.

"I figured you'd dump the water on yourself."

[secondchances]

"We still have a ways to go, apparently." She smiles, looking down at herself. "I'm good for now, though. I'm pretty sure I'd end up covered in muck again in no time."

[dorkwonder]

"Yeah, but at least you wouldn't be covered in my muck." Tim, stop.

[secondchances]

This all sounded so sexy. She laughs, again. "It's fine. When's a little blood bothered us?"

[dorkwonder]

"I wonder if other couples here have this many awkward moments." Chuckles, almost running his fingers through his hair, but stops himself when he remembers he has tar on them.

[secondchances]

"It makes us cute. I think. Besides, we're not nearly as awkward as some would like to think."

Ahem, Ezio and Lucrezia.

[dorkwonder]

"I wasn't aware that some thought we were awkward." Raises a brow.

[secondchances]

"Ezio and Lucrezia were speculating about our love lives," she replies. There's a smirk tugging at the corner of her mouth, at least.

[dorkwonder]

"Makes me wonder what's going on in their love lives if they have to busy themselves with the love lives of others. "Smirks. "I'd follow up with "or what's not going in their love lives", but I really don't want to put much thought into whatever it is they do."

[secondchances]

"Right? They're probably just jealous. Ezio asked if we kept the lights off. Please." Dimmed, if changed at all! "They're funny, sometimes."

[dorkwonder]

"There's no "probably" about it. When he found out you and I were together, he just about blew a gasket."

[secondchances]

"Admit it, that amuses you," she bumps him with her clean shoulder. This is a weird topic, but it's better than dwelling on their stains and what they represent. "I'm pretty sure sleeping with me was at least in the top five of his Paradisa bucket list. Any hope just sorta poofed once you came into the picture."

[dorkwonder]

Bumps her back with his shoulder.

"I won't lie, it does give me some satisfaction known that this whole situation probably bruised his ego. I bet he's made some lame remarks like.." Switches into a tone that sounds like an obnoxious version of Ezio's voice.

"If he's shit in bed, I would gladly pleasure you as a man should, dolcezza." Resists the urge to roll his eyes, thinking about Ezio's conversation with Cass.

[secondchances]

Aaaand there's a giggle fit. That's almost too perfect.

"Oh my god," she laughs, "Never do that again unless you want me to break my ribs laughing. Though, to be honest, he's never said anything about stepping up to the challenge. Just that you better not leave me wanting, he thinks I can do better, blah blah blah."

Another fit of laughter.

"And that you're irritable because you don't get enough." Enough of you know what, Tim.

[dorkwonder]

"Seriously? That reminds me of something someone in high school would say. Get a life and get laid!" Starts cracking up along side her, shaking his head.

"If he was born in modern times, he'd be the perfect antagonistic for a high school movie with that attitude."

[secondchances]

"He's more like a stereotypical frat boy. I could totally see him at Gotham U, drinking way too much and making a fool out of himself." She laughs. Well, that was part of Ezio's charm, she supposed. He wasn't always the brightest crayon in the box when it came to stuff like that.

[dorkwonder]

Charm is not the word Tim would use to describe his behavior.

"Sounds about right." Then a playful grin with a touch of flirtiness graces his lips.

"Although, I am feeling irritable after everything that's happened. Maybe we could look into that suggestion of his soon." You know, once she's not covered in tar, and he's not covered in blood.

[secondchances]

She grins. "I think we should, too. Who knows, maybe he's right," she can't seem to stop laughing. "Once this is over with and we've thoroughly cleaned ourselves. We've got to make sure you're not irritable at all before I leave on the expedition."

[dorkwonder]

"You're going to have your work cut out for you. You're going to be gone on the expedition for awhile, just think of how irritable that's going to make me."

[secondchances]

"I can't even imagine," though she can imagine that she'll end up pretty irritable, too. "I'll be sure to make up for all the time I'm gone when I get back."

The separation is probably going to suck for a while, she figures. Ever since they got together, the most time they've spent apart only added up to a few days. Weeks? Ouch.

And between earthquake clean up, injuries, and gross stains, they haven't really been able to just cuddle.

[dorkwonder]

"I'll hold you to that."

Tim is thinking along the same lines as her. He'd really like to hold her right about now, but there's no way to do it without getting messy and gross.

"Whenever this clears up, we'll dedicate a few hours to serious cuddling."

[secondchances]

"Yes please," she sighs. "Because this really sucks."

[dorkwonder]

"No kidding." Stretches his legs out in front of him, while sliding his hands behind to support himself.

"At least it's a nice day outside."

[secondchances]

"This would be a lot worse if it were snowing, still." She looks over at Tim. Even with the mark on his head and neck, and blood on his chest, he's still a cutie.

"So, aside from our... whatever this is, how's it going?"
