IT'S A BABY-BONANZA!

Good morning, residents! Did you sleep well? You're going to need all the energy you can muster because congratulations: You're parents! Again! The Paradisa Stork has paid some very lucky residents a visit last night, and even moved them to a more kid-friendly environment.

Some of you may already recognize your little bundle of joy and--my, how they've grown! Others will have to get acquainted with their little rugrats. You may not know them, but they certainly know you. By they way? They're bored. And hungry! And they want all the attention you could possibly give them.

It's going to be a long week.

[He keeps a close eye on both kids as he works on cooking the food. Absentmindly, he hums a tune that he can't remember the name of as works. The kids made him nervous, although whether it was because he was worried that they'd get hurt and he in trouble or just because they were kids, he wasn't sure]

[Penny will help wherever Adam and Mary let her, though she knows enough to stay away from the stove or any sharp cooking implements. She smiles up at Adam, listening as he hums]

That's pretty.

[spongetastic]

[yes, good, little sister. You stay safe where Mary can see you :P Mary turns to her father, addressing him in Japanese]

Father, will you sing for us?

Thank you.

[He looks over at Mary as she speaks, hesitating for a moment before replying in Japanese]

Perhaps. Is there anything you would like for me to sing?

[spongetastic]

[Peter chooses this moment to step in. He smiles a little, pleased that Mary and Adam are getting along so well. The other little girl registers, too, and he's been through this enough times to guess where she came from]

What are you guys doing?

Stuff. Stuff you shouldn't be bothered about. Go back to bed.

[Adam really wasn't in the mood for subtlety at the moment]

Stuff.

[he glances between Mary and Adam. Truthfully he was a little worried about Adam's reaction to her, but they seem to be getting along. She's six now so maybe that helps. A smile touches his lips]

Sorry for interrupting. I'll go back to bed, then. You three have fun with your "stuff". [he nods to Adam, going back into the room where Phoebe is waiting. He can tell her about the new little girl]

[Phoebe had been just about to leave the room when Peter returns, actually. Cue one confused witch.

Penny just giggles and waves goodbye to Daddy as he leaves. Yes. Good Daddy. Don't spoil the surprise!]

[Adam turns back to the stove to tend to the food]

Anything you think we should add?

[while Peter tells Phoebe about the new addition, Mary is out with her father and half-sister bustling around to make breakfast a sensation. She doesn't mean to leave Penny out, but around Adam she can't help speaking Japanese. It's been their thing from the beginning, not that he'd remember]

Let's have a fruit salad, Father.

A fruit salad sounds great.

[Remembering Penny, he looks over at her and addresses her in English]

Do you think a fruit salad sounds like a good idea?

[kungfuwitch]

[Nuuuu Mary no fair speaking a language she can't understaaaaand.

Penny frowns at Mary until Adam speaks to her. Good Uncle Adam. She smiles up at him and nods]

Okay! [She moves towards the fridge to go get some fruit to put in said fruit salad. The fact that she can't open the door by herself doesn't occur to her until she's tugging at the handle]

[Mary kindly moves over to help her sister. Okay, okay, back to English it is]

We can wash the fruit together and put them in a bowl. Dad will be impressed we did it without Tousan's help.

[kungfuwitch]

[oh yay sister bonding! Her face lights up as she looks up at Mary. She nods]

Mommy, too.

[She grabs a step stool standing nearby, dragging it over to the sink so she can reach. She waits patiently for Mary to join her so they can start working.]

Yes, Phoebe too. [she smiles, placing a hand gently on her sister's back. It's a protective gesture, making sure she isn't in any danger of falling while they work on the fruit together]

[Adam watches the two girls, leaning back against the stove. Unfortunately, he doesn't pay attention to where he places his hand and ends up placing it against an eye on the stove. When he realizes what he's done, he jerks away from the stove and sticks his hand behind him while it heals. Nope. Nothing to see here]

Let me know if you need anything, girls.

[Unfortunately for you, Adam, Penny has inherited her mother's intuition (if not her premonitions). She turns and looks over her shoulder]

Whatcha doin' Uncle Adam?

Tousan has the ability to heal, Penny. [talking about abilities isn't odd to her. Both of her fathers have one, and she's come into her own now] It's different from my ability. I can heal other people; Tousan heals himself like Dad.

He just didn't want to scare you.

[kungfuwitch]

[She smiles at the two of them]

I can do magic, too! [... which isn't exactly the same but she's 3. Give her a break. She turns and looks at a spoon sitting on the counter. Frowning and squinting her eyes she concentrates on it as she swipes her hand in its direction. It jolts off the counter and clatters to the floor. Success! She turns and beams at her sister]

See!

[Well, there goes hoping that neither of them would notice anything. At least they weren't making fun of him for not paying attention to what he was doing. He watches Penny move the spoon with raised eyebrows. Well, this was going to be an interesting family]

That's brilliant, Penny.

[He's not exactly sure what else to say, so he turns back to the stove]

The food's ready. Are there serving trays so they can eat in bed or do you want us all to sit at the table?

[He's talking to Mary now, switching to Japanese without realizing it]

[Mary beams at her sister] You're getting good, Penny! You should show Dad and Phoebe later.

[she turns to her father, easily switching to Japanese] We should eat as a family. It's the first time we've all been together in a long time.

[kungfuwitch]

Thank you! [Her face lights up at the compliments. She's working really really hard on improving her powers, okay?!

Then they switch to Japanese... again... and she blinks at them, a confused look crossing her face]

What are you saying?

I was asking if we should eat as a family or if we should carry the food to them on trays. Mary says we should eat as a family. What do you think, Penny? Do you think we should eat as a family?

[Penny smiles and nods at Adam]

Yeah. As a family!

[Mary takes her father's hand, squeezing it tightly. When she speaks, this time it's in English]
