IT'S A BABY-BONANZA!

Good morning, residents! Did you sleep well? You're going to need all the energy you can muster because congratulations: You're parents! Again! The Paradisa Stork has paid some very lucky residents a visit last night, and even moved them to a more kid-friendly environment.

Some of you may already recognize your little bundle of joy and--my, how they've grown! Others will have to get acquainted with their little rugrats. You may not know them, but they certainly know you. By they way? They're bored. And hungry! And they want all the attention you could possibly give them.

It's going to be a long week.

[... Confusion started up again when the little girl woke up.]

Oh, good morning! Um...

[Wow, this girl's really reminding her of someone, but she can't figure it out! She looks a tiny bit like Chie, yeah, but it's the rest she can't quite place her finger on...

If she doesn't know where they are, though, Rise could at least find out who she is.]

What's your name, sweetie?

[The "sweetie" was pure reflex, but it kinda felt right? She and Chie are the only "grownups" here right now, so they'll have to take care of this girl until they get her back to whoever's responsible for her.

... Or else the castle is really being mean, taking a girl so young here by herself!]

{ooc: Want to trade Shiori control back and forth or take care of it for the rest of the thread? (Also she should totally call Rise and Chie Mama and Papa like every cutesy anime child. :3)}

Oh, haha... Yeah. [Chie blushed when Rise said she was more feminine than everyone thinks. It made her a little happy inside. She didn't give a good response to Rise, this whole situation is still the priority in her head]

[The girl wondered why Rise asked her name... It's something she should know, right?]

[Rise smiles and crouches down closer to the girl.]

That's a pretty name, Shiori-chan~!

Do you know how you got here?

[The girl giggles, like Rise's playing a game with her.]

I went to bed with Mama and Papa!

[... Rise's not sure what to make of the look the girl is giving her.]

Okay... do you know where they are?

[Shiori just giggles again, and Rise turns to look at Chie. There's a kind of quiet desperation in her eyes, as she tries to ask Chie to try talking to Shiori without being too obvious right in front of her. This is really serious! They need to get this girl where she belongs...]

Yeah, I'll go look for them if you want Shiori-chan! Do you know where they would be?

[Shiori giggles, playing along with this "game" they're playing. She puts her finger on her lip again, thinking]

I dunno... But my Mama loves to sing and my Papa loves steak!

[Okay, that was so obvious even denial can't keep it from piercing through Rise's brain. Everything about this room screams family, and since Rise and Chie woke up in what would normally look like the parents' bed...]

Ah... um...

[She has no idea what to say. She just looks at Chie, obviously panicking a bit.

Did the castle seriously just give them a daughter?! Who wished for that?! Wait... you can't wish for people, right? Then... how?!]

[Chie just looks at Rise, confused as hell]

I uh- What is going on...?!

[This better be a joke or she'll be screaming]

Did I win the game, Mama? [:3. She was looking at Rise when she asked that]

[Oh, no... no no no, this is bad! Rise's only barely holding together because she saw this coming a second before it really hit! Chie looks like she might freak out any second!

Before things can get any worse, she forces a smile and nods. The last thing they need to do is scare the poor girl!]

You sure did, Shiori-chan!

[She "boops" the little girl's nose with her finger and gets up to move towards Chie. Still smiling, if a bit awkwardly and strained now.]

... Can you play quietly out here for a minute? Mama and Papa need to talk...

[With that, she grabs Chie's arm and pulls her towards the bathroom. Keeping an eye on Shiori the whole way.

She'll have to make this talk fast... she doesn't like the idea of leaving someone who thinks she's their mother (and Chie is their father, however that works) alone for too long...]

Yay!

[Shiori giggles at Rise's sudden nose-boop, and nods enthusiastically when asked to play quietly.]

Uh-huh!

[She toddles off and settles into a small area of the room with some toys in it, and starts playing some kind of game with fashion dolls and a plush fox. Once Rise's sure she'll be safe for a minute (she may have even checked to make sure the door to the room is locked), she finishes dragging Chie into the bathroom and closing the door.]

["PAPA?!" Chie thought in her head. She wanted to hit something so badly, but she thought the same thing Rise did and not scare the girl. She followed Rise to the bathroom, with an annoyed expression on her face. While it may not be a big deal to others, she's tired of being seen more as a man than a woman only because she likes certain things

Once the door closes, she asked in a hushed voice]

Now what? And how the hell did I become the dad? I don't even have "the tools" for that!

I know!

[Rise keeps her voice hushed as well, but she's obviously barely managing to keep a lid on things.]

I mean, she can't really be...? She just thinks we're...

[Unable to finish the sentence coherently, she just ends it with a frustrated little noise.]

Argh! Stupid castle!

[In her current state, that's the closest she'll get to coherently pointing out that this has to be the castle messing with them. Not that the sudden toddler wasn't enough of a clue... or the fact that they're both girls and yet somehow supposed to be parents...]

[Chie swallowed all of her annoyance and tried to think clearly. "It's just a castle trick" she kept saying to herself. The whole "Papa Chie" business still pisses her off though]

Urgh! She doesn't... She doesn't even look like me! [Somehow when she said that out loud, she felt a heavy sensation in her chest. Of course the castle would pick the prettier one... Her expression turned solemn for a second while she peeked out of the door to look at Shiori. She buried her face in her fingers. She's the senpai here, she should be the more mature one and not let her emotions get in the way.]

{ooc: Poor Chie... I think Shiori should at least agree that Chie's a girl if they point it out. Just because she's her papa doesn't make her a man! Kid logic!}

[Rise blinks. Of all the things that could be bothering Chie about this situation, that was not what she would have expected.]

Wait, are you saying she looks like me?!

[Sure, Rise had noticed some similarities, but really? It's just the hairstyle and clothes! It's basic showbiz casting tricks!

... Right? As much as she'd try to deny it, the girl's face is burned into her brain. And some things just stick out.]

Actually... she does have your eyes. Your smile, too.

[She's muttering now, as if she can't believe she's actually saying this out loud. Because she can't.]

[Shiori seems to notice that they're in the bathroom too long... She's looking at the door while pouting her lips. Chie did notice that she looks like her when she pouts her lips like that...]

Ugh. I think we're in here too long. She's starting to notice. Okay, right now, let's go get something to eat. I am kind of hungry [Shocking]. We'll think about what to do when we eat. How's that sound?

[Ugh, that's right... she can't just stay in here much longer. Which means she has to go out and play mommy to keep poor Shiori from freaking out...]

... Right...

[Rise takes a deep breath, then grabs Chie's arm again.]

C'mon, dar~ling~...

[The words were for Shiori's benefit. The undertone of sarcasm in the saccharine sweet tone was for Chie.

She could play the housewife... it's a bit of an older role than she would have played in dramas at her age, but if it makes Shiori comfortable until the castle is done with this game, she'll do it.

... She just really hopes this isn't going to be longer than a week. They're usually just a week. She thinks she could handle a week.]

[Shiori watches them curiously. It's obvious something about today is unusual even to her, but it's anyone's guess exactly what.

She's obviously lost interest in her toys, and eventually makes her way over to the "adults", tugging on the hem of Rise's babydoll.]

Mama? I'm hungry...

[And Rise can't help but give Chie a look. Whatever the castle did, it's certainly trying to convince them this girl is really their daughter...]

[Chie gives a "Hey, don't look at me! You know I can't cook!" expression to Rise]

O-Oh, heheh... Well I can go look... at... the... fridge! Yeah, there has to be something there!

[She opened the fridge and be surprised that it is packed with food! It made her heart skip a bit in joy and made her forget their current situation for a second, because steaaak~ There's actually some in here and microwave beef bowls! Chie shuffles around the fridge while bent over]

Wow! This thing is stuffed! Do you want some tofu, Shiori-chan?

No!

[She's very emphatic about this.]

I want beefbowl!

[And Rise is giving Chie such a "she's -your- daughter" look right now! Still a castle trick, obviously, but that's definitely a Chie trait!]

Why don't we have beef bowls with tofu miso soup?

[If they don't have miso soup, they can probably still wish for it, right? Rise doesn't want to cook any more than Chie does...]

[Chie noticed the similarity in taste with Shiori, and it made her roll her eyes. No denying now, this girl is definitely her's. But how...? The only explanation for that is she became a guy for a day. She shook her head when she thought of that. Don't want the castle to hear that thought, after all!]

Okay! I got three beef bowls in here and some miso soup. I'll go heat them up [Convenient]

Thank god I don't have to cook... [Her failure of an awful tasting omelette still gives her Vietnam flashbacks]
