Maybe you were asleep in bed last night. Maybe you were out on the town. Or maybe you were working on something super cool, which you didn't really need to be disrupted by, oh, say a world change or anything else stupid.

Too bad for you, that's just what happened.

At the stroke of midnight, everyone will find themselves back in their assigned castle rooms -- except they're not exactly the same as they were left…

[ So does she. Like take her issues out on innocent people. ]

No. I am remaining off of the sand.

[eaglet]

[He points at the boulder. He's not standing on the sand either, see? He's on this rock. WHAT NOW.]

[ensorceler]

[ Picks up a smaller rock and throws it at his smug face that's what!

No, she'll be good. ]

You should not be on the rocks, either! And you must have touched the sand to reach that spot.

[eaglet]

[He raises his eyebrows and points at a nearby tree, closer to the path. He climbed it and then hopped down, that's how he got over here...]

What is the point of land that is only there to look at?

[ensorceler]

[ So he's a monkey, like Cassandra... Just as strange looking, too, but then again one gets used to that in Paradisa. ]

It is not I who made these rules. While you are accepting their food and sleeping under their roof, you must follow their rules if you wish not to be seen as naught but an ungrateful heathen.

[eaglet]

[A MONKEY, excuse u. Not that he knows she's thinking this. And probably only has a cursory understanding of what a monkey is, for that matter.]

I do not disagree. But you cannot apply that to only this place; it must be all or nothing. Many rail against the castle when it is being a castle, and it is hypocrisy to except obedience to its whims only when it is different.

[ensorceler]

[ A little huff. ]

That is different. These are people, and these are their rules. The castle has none, as few would accept any I might set forth.

[eaglet]

Is this not still the castle? [He waves his hand vaguely, to indicate... everywhere.] I was told we are still in the castle's domain when it does this sort of thing. So the rules made by the people may still be from the castle's influence.

[ensorceler]

So you are rebelling for the sake of it, then. Do you wish to bring about it's ire?

[eaglet]

[He spreads his hands diplomatically.]

I do not rebel. Only question.

[ensorceler]

If you expect an answer, you will only receive one in the form of loss.

[eaglet]

And you speak from experience?

[ensorceler]

[ She thinks on the Event Horizon, and her prior claims to ruling and then destroying the castle. Haunted doesn't even begin to describe her look now. ]

[Oh. That sure is... a reaction. Connor blinks.]

Are you alright?

[ensorceler]

I am well and good, I was only responding to your inquiry. So will you remove yourself, then?

[eaglet]

[Huh...

He frowns, looking around.]

I do not like the inside of this building, nor do I like the city outside.

[ensorceler]

So will you live out the rest of our time here in this little garden, then? Shall I bring you your meals?

[eaglet]

[He opens his mouth to say he can find his own meals, THANK YOU, but then... closes it with a large frown because...

There don't seem to be any deer or rabbits in this... little garden...]

No thank you.

[ensorceler]

[ She was being hugely sarcastic! Whatever, fine, she won't harass him about getting off further. With a sigh, she'll just find a nice unobtrusive spot to sit and zone out or whatever it is people do here. ]

[eaglet]

[He thought she was just being rude! Well, either way, he watches her, though he's getting the impression she's somewhat at a loss of what to do.

Eventually, he speaks up again.] Are you not going to explore this place? I know many others are.

[ensorceler]

[ Oh man, are you really going to interrupt her brooding? Must be payback. She glances over, out of the barest sense of respect for another human being. ]

I am no more trusting than you.

[eaglet]

[He's just being polite, jeez! Jeez!!!!

Connor shrugs slightly, glancing at the ground.]

It is not distrust. It is discomfort. I am barely able to tolerate the city in Paradisa.

[ensorceler]

[ That makes her raise an eyebrow. ]

It is not so grand a city as I am accustomed... But these cities in the future are much larger. Such growth should be natural, though none of this looks to be.

[eaglet]

[He frowns... that's what makes him so uneasy about it all. The growth of cities, turning land into this. No trees, nothing but people and machines.]

I come from a small village. My first time into a city was the day I was brought to Paradisa. I suppose I am still not used to it.
