隅田川花火大会 SUMIDAGAWA FIREWORKS FESTIVAL

Tonight, in the sky, there are fireworks.

You can see them from the hotel window, but for a better look -- so suggests the helpful concierge at the desk -- you'll want to head to Sumida, where locals and tourists alike gather on the edge of the Sumida River.

[Technically the festival is supposed to happen on the last Saturday of July, but whatever! It's Paradisa. For more information on the festival please visit here, and you can watch YouTube videos here.]

And I agreed, assuming you'd stay where you could be looked after.

I figured I could look after myself for a little while. I've done it for years.

You've done it for years as a robot. There's a big difference there. Humans have a lot more that can go wrong with them.

I'm aware of that. Being a machine doesn't exactly things easy either.

[And then there's a loud growl from his stomach, and he just looks down at himself completely dumbfounded. What could possibly going wrong now?]

[There's a louder growl.]

-I haven't.

Oooookay, I'm sure there's somewhere to eat around here. You should probably...do that. Humans need food, its kind of a vital survival thing.

I know that.

[He grumbles and mumbles a bit in annoyance before finally saying.]

I don't really know what I should eat.

Well, okay. We can go find some food, and you can try and see what you like.

...Right.

[He's cool with the idea of grabbing food, getting there is another story. He'll push himself off the tree he's been using for support so he can take a better look around for somewhere to eat.]

[...Well, that's not a good thing. Once frowns]

Or...how about you sit there and I'll bring you some food. You look like you're about to drop.

I can go.

[Just watch Once as he starts to take a few steps forward only to end up stumbling. He'll give you a look that just screams "Don't you dare say I told you so."]

I told you so.

[HE DOES WHAT HE WANTS]

Look, just sit down, before you do yourself more damage. I've been a human all my life, I promise I know what to get you to keep you ticking over.

[Damnit Once. Blues will glare for a second, then look away. While he's at it, he might actually do what you say and sit down against that tree.]

Guess I don't have much of a choice.

[He appreciates it, somewhere deep down. But he's too stubborn to admit it.]

Nooooo you don't. I'll be back soon.

[And he will, eventually, with a bag FULL OF ALL KINDS OF FOOD]

[And Blues will wait like a good little human until Once gets back. He thought about leaving, but didn't think he'd be able to make a clean getaway without Once spotting him.

Once the Once-ler returns with the food he'll just eye it curiously.]

How much did you get? I don't think all of that could possibly fit in me.

You'd be surprised. Besides, I wanted to get you a mix, so you can try everything and work out what you like. You haven't had tastebuds before, let me tell you, those things are cooky.

Cooky how?

[Blues knows the Once-ler has kind of an odd sense of taste when it comes to design, if that taste is just as odd when it comes to food, well could end poorly for Blues. Unfortunately he doesn't exactly have the luxury of doubting Once-ler on this one as well... he's human and he does kind of have to eat. So he'll take a glance over everything Once-ler had brought and will settle on the marshmallows. (because of course Once-ler got marshmallows) He'll pop one in his mouth and well there's going to be an awkward moment as tries to figure out this whole chewing thing.]

[Sadly, Japan is fresh out of green eggs and ham, so at least most of the food here is rather tame by anyone else's standards. But gosh there sure are a lot of marshmallows there, and Once smiles at Blues' choice]

Those are called marshmallows. They're the best.

[It's kind of gross at first because Blues doesn't really know how to chew, much less chew with his mouth closed, but he gets it eventually. Unfortunately you do get some talking with his mouth full at the same time.]

Ish ahlruhghm.

[Oh, now he'll swallow.]

They're alright.

[And yet he's reaching for another one, before he tries anything else.]

Alright? [Them's fighting words]

You kidding me? They are the food of Gods.

[Fight him.]

Give me a chance to compare it to something else.

[Okay, what the heck is this thing? A rice ball. He'll give that a try. ...Then he'll grab another marshmallow after that. What have you done to him Once?]

[HE HAS NO REGRETS]

Okay, so what do you think of it now?

They're better than the other thing.

You'll be saying that a lot.
