Tonight, in the sky, there are fireworks.

You can see them from the hotel window, but for a better look -- so suggests the helpful concierge at the desk -- you'll want to head to Sumida, where locals and tourists alike gather on the edge of the Sumida River.

[Animals always get nervous around fireworks, he remembers. So, he keeps his tone as quiet as he can]

[Toboe would talk back if he could! Instead he starts to slowly crawl out of his hiding spot.]

[He's not afraid to approach Ben, but every time one of the fireworks goes off he'll back away just a little bit. He'll give Ben a pathetic look because how is he even supposed to deal with all this noise and commotion?]

[Poor wolfdog. Benn glances behind him, a nervous habit carried over from back home, making sure no one's following him, before he shifts into the alley proper. Sitting down on the floor nearby to Toboe]
