Tonight, in the sky, there are fireworks.

You can see them from the hotel window, but for a better look -- so suggests the helpful concierge at the desk -- you'll want to head to Sumida, where locals and tourists alike gather on the edge of the Sumida River.

[Wade is here, meandering through the crowd and checking out the souvenirs on display. She's decided to dress for the occasion in a pretty yellow yukata she bought. Might as well get into the spirit of things, she figures. When would she have the chance to actually be in Tokyo, of all places? Still, a part of her wishes her friends were here to enjoy this.
