Tonight, in the sky, there are fireworks.

You can see them from the hotel window, but for a better look -- so suggests the helpful concierge at the desk -- you'll want to head to Sumida, where locals and tourists alike gather on the edge of the Sumida River.

[Technically the festival is supposed to happen on the last Saturday of July, but whatever! It's Paradisa. For more information on the festival please visit here, and you can watch YouTube videos here.]

I didn't, that's clearly something I'm going to have to check out. The fireworks are great, though.

I was thinking that you're outside and sort of having fun. You should do it more often.

Oh...okay, I didn't guess that much.

[He smiles a little, though] I guess busting my knee did do some good. I guess I got used to being around people.

And it's not such a bad thing, is it?

Not as much as I thought it would be, kiddo, no. I'm even getting more used to the town, working on those houses.

Oh, right, the earthquake. The town looked a lot better when I was there for the fireworks.

It's rebuilding, slowly. And the people there are actually a lot easier to deal with than most of the castle people.

They're a little strange, but they're nice.

Yeah, they're a little...nervous of us, I guess? But you can't really blame them, what with all he trouble residents bring.

We don't mean to do it...

Nah, we don't, and I think most of them understand that.

[he nods, taking another bite of his rice ball. He glances up at the Once-ler and offers one to him]

Have you tried one yet? They're really good.

[whichwayyoulean]

[The Once-ler will glance at it, before tentatively taking it]

What's in it?

[findatree]

It's a riceball, Grandpa. A ball made of rice.

[whichwayyoulean]

So there's nothing else in it but rice? I'm not gonna bite into it and find raw fish or anything weird?

[findatree]

Well... there might be something in the middle. I haven't gotten to that part yet.

[whichwayyoulean]

[He considers, before giving a shrug]

Why the heck not, let's live in the moment. [Gonna take a big bite out of that]

[Ted reaches the center of his rice ball] Mmmm, it's kind of sour but it's really good!

[whichwayyoulean]

[Chew chew</i.] Yeah, it's not as terrible as I thought it would be at all.

We should find out how they make these so we can get more when we go back to the castle.

[whichwayyoulean]

Sure, I'd be willing to give it a shot if I could get a recipe.

[Because feeding people is always one of his favourite things to do]
