Tonight, in the sky, there are fireworks.

You can see them from the hotel window, but for a better look -- so suggests the helpful concierge at the desk -- you'll want to head to Sumida, where locals and tourists alike gather on the edge of the Sumida River.

[Technically the festival is supposed to happen on the last Saturday of July, but whatever! It's Paradisa. For more information on the festival please visit here, and you can watch YouTube videos here.]

This is actually my first time in Tokyo.

You blend into the crowd with better finesse than most I have seen from the castle.

I have not yet said what I think of these people, before you step too far ahead of yourself and see it as a compliment.

[ But she can't judge too hard, since she's wearing special 80's prom dress, anyway, whatever that means. She'll shut up after that so he can enjoy the fireworks he came for. ]

[Honestly, his reasoning was more about seeing if there would be a surprise twist at the end -- but it seems like festivals are living up to their name lately.]

Did they have those, back in your day?

....In my day. [ She squints. Sayings, whut. ] Yes, of course. There was a spectacle as great as this for my coronation, in fact.

[He's already considering this the longest pleasant conversation they've had in a while. He should take advantage of it.]

You must have been popular.

[ And he totally ruined it with that question, unfortunately. The stare she gives him is as cold as ice before she looks away. Of course now there is nothing to look at, so after a moment she just moves to walk away. ]

[He hadn't meant it to be offensive, but he's used to that look. Shaking his head, he speaks up before she gets too far.]

[ He really uses the strangest sayings. She stops, and looks back to him, less cold and more haunted. ]

There were barely any people. They did not cheer, or remove their hats. Those that rose their voices in my name did so to call out whore.

[ And that pretty much spelled out the rest of her reign. Another drag of silence, and look cast downward, before Anne forces herself through the crowd and back in the direction of the hotel. ]

[He says nothing else in response, stunned into silence. Apparently he hadn't gone far back enough in his (Frodo's) research, only focusing on the end. Knowing that, who could blame her for walking away?

Once she leaves, he's at a loss of what to do. Sighing, he makes himself comfortable in the crowd. After that, he should at least smoke through a few cigarettes before he heads back himself.]
