Tonight, in the sky, there are fireworks.

You can see them from the hotel window, but for a better look -- so suggests the helpful concierge at the desk -- you'll want to head to Sumida, where locals and tourists alike gather on the edge of the Sumida River.

I don't know much about this place, I'll admit, but I think the hotels alone speak for this country. Who knows what you'll find out there.

Our hotel seems rather dull. Or did you find secret passages in my absence?

There are other hotels, weird ones with themes.

In the French or Japanese style?

Crude, that is.

One of them was crude, but it was definitely Japanese.

How was it crude?

Sleazy part of town, and it was just for couples.

A crude hotel is not a home, surely.
