Tonight, in the sky, there are fireworks.

You can see them from the hotel window, but for a better look -- so suggests the helpful concierge at the desk -- you'll want to head to Sumida, where locals and tourists alike gather on the edge of the Sumida River.

Beer? Nah. You just kind of... go for it. [He demonstrates!]

[She'll watch him for a moment, before taking a swig. Give her a moment, she's considering if she likes this or not]

[Now he's watching her! This is an important occasion.] Well?

[After a moment, she nods]

That's actually pretty good.

[samson]

[And now he's like, beaming with pride. Brock, it's just beer...]

I knew you'd like it. Now whenever this place decides to turn you human, it won't be so bad.

[It's okay, Brock, this is a rite of passage you have steered her through, like a good friend]

Well, now we have something fun to do when the castle decides to do silly things like this. I can live with this.

[samson]

And you didn't even get drunk yet! It gets a lot more fun, trust me.

Does it really? [Another sip] I'm sure it'll be a fun experience.

[samson]

Well. [He claps his hand on her shoulder obnoxiously.] I'm glad we're taking this journey together, Mal.

[mal_addict]

[He;s lucky he's introduced her to the joys of beer, she'll allow that without trying to break his hand]

Huh huh. I'm dying of excitement.

[samson]

[That's what he was counting on!]

Maybe we can try sake next.

Sah-key? What's that? [Well, at least she's interested enough to test it out]

[samson]

It's, uh... kind of like a wine made from rice. Here...

[He orders from the vendor in English again, handing her a little cup and taking one for himself.]

[mal_addict]

I thought you made wine from grapes. [Gonna...sniff it]

[samson]

Usually, yeah.

[Whatever, she can sniff all she wants! He is taking a sip.]

[mal_addict]

[She takes a moment, before taking a sip of her own] Huh. That's...interesting.

[samson]

[Brock watches her curiously. The moment of truth...]

Interesting good, or interesting-but-not-as-good-as-beer?

[mal_addict]

Interesting good. It's stronger. Stronger's, good.

[samson]

That's just what I wanted to hear.

[He is just gonna spend the rest of the night getting her drunk on sake. For science!]
