隅田川花火大会 SUMIDAGAWA FIREWORKS FESTIVAL

Who: Everybody!
What: Tokyo Day Three: fireworks festival
When: Thursday, 18/July -- evening
Where: Hotel or Sumida
Rating: pretty

Tonight, in the sky, there are fireworks.

You can see them from the hotel window, but for a better look -- so suggests the helpful concierge at the desk -- you'll want to head to Sumida, where locals and tourists alike gather on the edge of the Sumida River.

[ Watch fireworks from the hotel | Watch fireworks from Sumida ]

[Technically the festival is supposed to happen on the last Saturday of July, but whatever! It's Paradisa. For more information on the festival please visit here, and you can watch YouTube videos here.]

Ercole is Italian. Hercules, Latin, and the Greeks call him Heracles.

You must never shear your hair.

Well, sometimes it happens, but not by choice.

Your wife?

[ Totally a wild guess. Not. ]
samson: (eyeroll)

Nah... this one time it got, like, burned off. There was a fire.

[Why else would it get burned off?]

Then this other time I had to put it on a shark to make this guy think the shark was me... which, uh, sounds kinda dumb when I say it out loud. Never mind.
heloise: (++ / both)

[ She's too much of a lady to laugh out loud... but maybe not. At least she tries to cover her mouth with her hand. ]

Was the shark as handsome as you?
samson: (/smolder)

[personal profile] samson 2013-08-06 04:21 am (UTC)(link)
Well, you know. He had better teeth.
heloise: (& / sidle)

[personal profile] heloise 2013-08-06 01:01 pm (UTC)(link)
But his nose has none of your grace, surely.
samson: (jokes w/ stupid hat)

[personal profile] samson 2013-08-08 02:53 am (UTC)(link)
[Pfffft, okay, he laughs again.] My nose?
heloise: (++ / unrivaled)

[ She turns to inspect the object in question. ]

Indeed. Your most elegant and graceful nose.
samson: (:])

[personal profile] samson 2013-08-11 11:53 pm (UTC)(link)
[He touches it experimentally.]

Never had anybody call it 'graceful' before.
lucre: (& / paolo)

[personal profile] lucre 2013-08-12 01:02 pm (UTC)(link)
How did others call it?
samson: (eyeroll)

[personal profile] samson 2013-08-16 05:00 am (UTC)(link)
Pfft... big? 'Beaky,' too.
lucre: (+ / who)

[personal profile] lucre 2013-08-17 04:21 am (UTC)(link)
[ She laughs. Sorry, not sorry. ]

Like an eagle's?
samson: (i think this might be a stupid idea)

[personal profile] samson 2013-08-21 04:36 am (UTC)(link)
[It's okay, he only looks... a little bit annoyed.]

Well, Mol does call me 'falcon,' so...
lucre: (& / paolo)

[personal profile] lucre 2013-08-21 12:57 pm (UTC)(link)
A term of endearment, surely. Falcons are gracious creatures.
samson: (footlocker full of manboro miles)

[personal profile] samson 2013-08-23 05:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, it's like a pet name. I always thought it had more to do with being badass than, uh, gracious, but...

[Falcons are badass. That's the point he's making.]

They are fond of hunting the pigeons.
samson: (glare forever)

[personal profile] samson 2013-08-26 03:00 am (UTC)(link)
Pigeons pretty much just hang out in cities in my time, so I don't know if they even get a chance to anymore.
