TOKYO OPT-IN 1/4
Who: Opt-in characters
What: What is even going on and then there's a monster
When: Forward-dated to 10pm, 20/July
Where: Tokyo... or is it?
Rating: PG/PG-13
Whatever you were in the middle of doing, you suddenly find yourself in what appears to be an abandoned garage, in the blink of an eye.
There is a bunch of weird-looking technology everywhere, cables and wires connected to machines lined with blinking lights. There are screens all over the room, with grids and maps on some of them and scrolling, foreign text on others. One of the screens projects a constantly rotating image.
There's also a platform in the middle of the room. And you all happen to be standing on it.

To your left! I have a trap set. Try to lead him to the left!

[And Utena switches directions instantly. Hey, this woman knows what she's doing, so if she has a plan Utena will follow it to the letter. As she runs, she spares a quick glance back to the creature. Is it following her? Or will she have to give it some more encouragement?]

Unfortunately, 'to the left' is also blocked off by a construction zone fence. She'll either have to climb it or break through it somehow to get to the trap.]

At first glance, there is nothing in the construction site that screams 'this is a trap' -- no boxes held up with sticks or wire cages hanging suspended in the air, ready to be dropped. There's just a lot of construction equipment.]

She swings her head back and forth, looking around the site -- it doesn't look like she knows where the trap is, either -- but then she points ahead of Utena.] There! Lead him there.
[It's a small, innocuous cluster of short cylinders, almost like coral.]
no subject
Right! Anything else?!
[If she has no further instructions, Utena will just keep heading straight, ready to jump over the cylinders as necessary]
[OOC: Gotta head out for a bit, but I should be back in about 45 minutes]

[Luckily the creature doesn't really understand language, or they'd be in trouble right now. As it is, it simply stomps after Utena, toward the trap.
Once it's over the cylinders, the woman presses the button on a small remote she's holding: the cylinders quickly extend into a net of poles, virtually imprisoning the creature and rendering it unable to move for the time being. It's still able to make the breathy moaning sound, though, so it's still quite conscious.
The woman steps into the construction zone, one hand still at her side as the other clutches the remote. The digitized voice at her wrist comes through again, speaking intelligibly this time.] Contain him now before this becomes an even bigger disaster.
[The woman rolls her eyes and turns to Utena.] Thank you.

Don't mention it. Seriously, if it wasn't for you, that thing would still be going after us. Just... what the heck is it, anyway?
no subject
[The woman brings her wrist up to speak into it in the same rapid-fire, foreign language as before, apparently arguing with the voice on the other end.
And while she's distracted, the creature starts to crack through the poles.]
no subject
Hey, uh, I hate to interrupt, but I think you'll want to take a look at this!

Damn! That's never happened before --
[The creature violently busts through the poles containing it at this point, making its low, breathy noise again. The woman raises the remote she's still clutching and presses a second button ...]
no subject
It seems frozen and unresponsive. So it probably won't bust out this time. Probably.]
no subject
So, that's that, right? We won't have to worry about anymore daring escapes from him?
no subject
No. You're safe. We're safe.
