I'll take you down the only road I've ever been down
Who: Linda Danvers and you
What: A new arrival scopes out the pretty prison
When: Nowish
Where: All over the first floor
Rating: PG
The journal was tucked under Linda's arm as she walked slowly through the lobby of the admittedly gorgeous castle. Nothing was attacking her, and it really did all look perfectly innocent. You know. By gorgeous castle standards. Like she knew anything about gorgeous castle standards.
She didn't even remember that she was in costume until she felt the blonde hair of her wig brush against her neck as she turned her head. How did she get here? What was she doing an hour ago? And what sort of freaky magic did the journal use to make sounds and images come out of it like some sci-fi fantasy mishmash? She didn't want to mess with it until she was sure that there weren't any angels, demons, or otherwise divinely affiliated entities involved in her arrival here. Somebody else was the Earth Angel of Fire now, right? So they had no business with her. Not that that had ever stopped them in the past.
She gave the suspicious once-over to every person she passed in those luxurious halls. Where they a part of whatever this weirdness was, or just like her, lost and really confused? And now that she thought of it... she was totally going to get fired if she didn't find a way home soon.
[ooc | She'll been wandering around, so feel free to meet her anywhere on the first floor of the castle inside or out! ]

"Oh! Uhh--nothing, I was just looking at the..." She motioned to her own chest. Okay, also not very intelligent. "That symbol."
no subject
"Yeah. I'm Supergirl." She offered a small wave and an awkward smile. "Hi."
no subject
"Supergirl like, Superman's cousin, from Krypton, arsenal of super cool powers, no pun intended?"
no subject
"Is that a trick question? Superman doesn't have a cousin, he was the only survivor of Krypton. Everybody knows that." And yet, it hadn't really sounded like a joke. And if it was one, it wasn't very funny.
no subject
"Then what's your relation?"
Not that it REALLY mattered--Steph just didn't want to blurt out the name Kara unless she was sure this was a version of her.
no subject
"It's... complicated," she decided after a moment's deliberation. "Really complicated."
no subject
Complicated, crazy, and Bat-flavored. Several years in Paradisa have made Steph not so much of a stickler when it came to secret identities--it just made things messier than they needed to be when things got dangerous--but Tim still wasn't fond of outright admitting that they were Bats. So, for the time being, she decided to keep that on the down low.

"Your new Batgirl is spooky as all get out. I prefer Leesburg myself." That was't risky knowledge. No doubt it had been in the news how Supergirl favored Leesburg these days.
no subject
Spooky Batgirl. Cass? Okay, that's something.
"Leesburg?"
no subject
"Hey," she started suddenly, "you seem like a normal kind of girl." Not particularly demonic or angelic, anyway. And she hadn't said anything really cryptic, just that weird thing about Superman's cousin.
"What's the deal with this place, really?"
no subject
"What, you mean what's the deal with the eerily pretty castle that takes something from you and keeps you here until it's tired if you, while sometimes throwing weird adventures and events at you? Magic is what everyone's concluded."
The same place that tosses out alternate-other-weird-universe people every few months. Magic.
no subject
"Okay, but what kind of magic? Are we talking waving wands and sparkles, or blood sacrifice and fiery portals of death?"
no subject
Speaking of which, that was the last time she saw Kara. She sighed, crossing her arms over her chest. She constantly wondered if her friend was sent home, or if she was stuck out in space somewhere. Not that space would be a problem for Supergirl, but the not knowing was enough to make her want to know who this chick was.
"Okay, screw it. I'll just be forward, 'cause... I'm going to be forward. Kara Zor-El. Ring any bells?"
no subject
"No. Should it?"
no subject
"It should, because that's the Supergirl I know."
Agitation is in her tone, but it's more of a tired here we go again thing.
no subject
"Sorry?" A+ for rhetoric, Danvers.
no subject
"I'm guessing you're... some sort of alternate universe not-Kara-Supergirl. Or maybe I'm the alternate universe with the Kara-Supergirl," she said. Details. Universes gave her headaches. They could sit around and compare what they knew for forever.
"I'm Stephanie," she offered a hand. "I didn't mean to throw you for a loop, I swear."
Now, where to go from here...
Tim was probably not going to be too happy.
no subject
"Nice to meet you. Did you say alternate universe? Like where Power Girl is from?"
no subject
Not hear so much as lives with, but again, details!
no subject
"Hold on, so not only have I been kidnapped to some freaky castle place, but people from all over the multiverse have too?" That was just plain worrisome. "There isn't any talk about the fabric of space and time collapsing, is there?"
no subject
"So, uh, I'm going off the impression that you're not some evil imposter... feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, though."
no subject
"I'd tell you to ask Superman, but I haven't seen him around."
no subject
"Well. This encounter could have definitely gone better, but I'd say we've done a good job so far. General newbie spiel, questioning of who you are, allusions to similar... stuff."
no subject
"Right. I guess I'll... scope out the outside of the castle." She wasn't at all sure what she should do, but that seemed like something that needed to be done and she didn't want to seem so totally lost and helpless.

The most helpful of Bats.
