[Sam honestly isn't exactly sure how he ended up here in what looks like a too-fancy lobby, but he knows it involved a lot of wandering, going down some stairs, going up others. His small chucks shuffle across the floor as he stares out at the large space from where he starts down the staircase toward one of those couches. Part of him guesses that this isn't LA, but how could he have gone anywhere besides?

Curiously, he regards the first couch he comes to, sitting himself down on it and folding his legs. At least this is better than his previous plan of riding off to the park to sit in the rain. He's still more than a little soaked, but that's not important to him right now.]

Different kind of genes. They're inside you -- it helps your body figure out different things like what color your eyes are.

[sameteam]

[Sam watches and listens carefully, thinking about that.]

And how good of a listener you are.

Exactly. It's part of our DNA.

[sameteam]

[Now that's something else that goes straight over his head.]

What's that?

[whatialways_do]

DNA is a giant string of genes all twisted together. You get some from your mom and some from your dad. That's how you look like them.

[sameteam]

It's really small, right? [Because he can't see it.]

[whatialways_do]

Super small. Only way you can see it is with a really strong microscope.

[sameteam]

[That brightens up Sam's face again.]

Really?

[whatialways_do]

Yep.

[sameteam]

Do you think they have those here?

[whatialways_do]

[pauses as she thinks about that for a moment]

Maybe. But I think I've got an easier way to see what DNA looks like.

[smirks]

Have you seen the library yet?

[sameteam]

[Sam raises and eyebrow before shaking his head.] Not yet.

[whatialways_do]

[starts to push up to her feet before extending a hand]

C'mon. I'll show you.

[sameteam]

[Sam doesn't accept the hand but gets to his feet all the same.] Okay!

[whatialways_do]

[she heads to the elevator, taking them up to the fourth floor, before leading them into the entrance of the library where they have ALL the books]

This is it.

[sameteam]

[The glass elevators by themselves are enough to amaze him, getting to see the library and that many books? Pretty mind blowing. He just stares around for a couple moments.]

[gives him a minute to take it all in, before smirking back at him]

There's three floors, too.

[sameteam]

Have you read all of them? [It's an honest question, figuring that she probably has somehow.]

[whatialways_do]

[shakes her head with a bit of a laugh]

No, not yet. But I'm working on it.

[sameteam]

[Smiling a little at her laugh.] Do you have a favorite?

[whatialways_do]

[shrugs]

I like a little of everything. I like to learn.

[sameteam]

[Sam becomes a teeny bit shy at that. He likes learning too, but some of the kids in his class don't think so.]

[whatialways_do]

[notices that and her head tips a bit]

What?

[sameteam]

[Sam shakes his head rapidly, curls flopping around.] Nothing.

[whatialways_do]

Okay. Let's go find the science section.

[and she'll start to wander in that direction]
