Lets (not) talk about sex
Who: Church and Tex
What: the long avoided conversation about awkward happenings during The Gentlemen plot
When: Tuesday night
Where: Church's room.
Rating: R for language at least.
Mason was off the leash and running, he'd been nosing through the halls with some sort of purpose until he found a door and ran inside, tail wagging like crazy.
"God dammed dog, I've shot people for less than this." The black armored form muttered and tromped after the canine. It wasn't until she crossed the threshold that she realized whose room she'd stepped into.
Fuck
Yeah, Church's room and of course the dog was running right up to him, eager to lick his face and give all the affection in the world like it was no big deal. She hadn't been back to his room since the silence and violence of the Gentlemen. She'd been human and for once she'd been really and truly scared for her life.
Church had helped her adjust, and protected her. Hell he'd even stayed up all night to make sure she slept and...as they say one thing lead to another, and it kept leading there an awful lot.
But that had been the fear and the situation right? Things were different, or rather back to normal now. It seemed stupid that she'd avoided him, no not avoided. She'd just been busy, anywhere he wasn't and doing anything not involving him. Totally not avoiding him. Right.
So she just stood there in the doorway, not quite stepping fully inside and not saying anything, just sort of holding the leash in her hand as if that was all that needed to be said.

Because knowing this place, that is exactly how it would work. Soon as they stop expecting him to show up blam-o he'd arrive.
They get to the tower and Church enters his code to unlock the doors.

she watched him, the movement was easy, practiced almost second nature. "So, you spend a lot of time here, huh?"
no subject
He opened the door for her, revealing the open pillared entryway. Grand double staircase in the back and the letter S in intricate tile-work on the floor. Everything about the space screamed opulence without being gaudy and still maintaining a welcoming atmosphere. It was exactly everything that Blood Gulch hadn't been.
"Welcome to Stark Tower."

But the place was nice. Fuck the place was better than anything she'd set foot in before. Even her jaded nature had to stop for a moment and take it in.
This was what he was giving up to stay in the Castle? "Why the fuck would you ever leave?"
no subject
Church grinned and gave her a minute to check things out before bringing her to the elevators. He was pretty proud of calling the Tower his home, even if he didn't spend much time here, so he liked showing it off when he could.
"Oh you know... reasons. Someone has to keep an eye on Tucker." Except that he had stopped living there before then, when she arrived. He had wanted to be around her, even if all they did was fight.

"Uh, yeah..right, thanks." She turned to Church. "Hell of a lot more pleasant than most of the AI's I've ever worked with." And it was true, present company not excepted.
Progress on the synthetic mesh for Miss Tex is nearly ninety eight percent complete, only small details need to be calibrated and specific cosmetic choices.
JARVIS helpfully offered as they stepped into the elevator, the voice following them through unseen speakers as though he was along for the conversation.
"Yeah, we all got reasons I guess. Still this place is pretty damn nice." And it was also the home of that other woman who Tex was deliberately terminating thought function on at the moment. Mason however was thrilled about it, he was sniffing the elevator and picking up the few scents to be had there.
About the animal, Mr.Church- "Does he seriously call you Mr. Church?" Tex cut in on the AI.
The facility was not precisely designed for children or pets. To be more accurate Mr Stark specifically left these out of his designs for the tower as he wanted neither in it. But the animal can be accommodated if you wish.
"He's a dog, and his name is Mason, got that bot-boy? So yeah, treat him nice because you never know, he might be here a lot." Nobody pushed her friends around, be they artificial or furry.
No one but her anyway.

"Mason'll stay in my room while we're here. He won't be any trouble."
Church hit the button for his floor so they could drop Mason off.
no subject
Of course, Mr. Church. Shall I ready the lab?
She was never going to get used to that, never. But it was going to get amusing watching Church squirm every time he said it. She was half tempted to tell JARVIS that he was some sort of royalty to see what happened.
no subject
"Yeah, that would be great. It'll only take us a few minutes and then we'll head over."
no subject
"So, the AI has a thing for you, you were close with the woman who lives here, you are having my body work done here and it's ten times better than the castle." Was that a question or a statement?
"Still hard to believe you'd rather hang out in the fucking castle." The door opened and she and Mason followed Church down the hall to his room. Seriously the place was nice.

He opened the door and Mason zipped inside to sniff around every nook and cranny. His room in the tower is far more 'homey' than the one in the castle. This was mostly due to having Pepper Potts design the space but there were subtle touches that marked this as someplace he thought of as home. The kick-knacks that Chie bought him sitting on the gunrack, the fingerprinting that Beth made hanging on the wall.

She took the leash off Mason and let him do his doggy thing of running around. She pulled a bowl out from the storage compartment on her back and looked for a sink to fill it, the bathroom was connected so she just walked in like she owned the place.
When she set the bowl down she could overtly notice the things she had been covertly studying before. Little kitsch things and a weird painting. "What's thing?"
no subject
Once Mason had surveyed the room and had a drink he made himself comfortable on the bed.
"Oh, just things I've picked up since I've been here. Joke gifts or whatever."
no subject
Jokes and gifts? She snickered. "Aww so does that mean Tucker made you this? Couldn't make you a macaroni landscape to put on the fridge?"
